The reason why red bumps grow on the vulva

The vulva is a type of tissue located at the vaginal opening, and it plays an important role in protecting the health of the vagina. Therefore, women attach great importance to the health of the vulva. The vulva is relatively fragile and is prone to some diseases, especially some infectious diseases. For example, the growth of red bumps on the vulva has a great impact on the health of the vulva. So what causes the growth of red bumps on the vulva? Let’s take a look at the explanation below.

Red bumps on the vulva are typical fungal vaginitis. Patients with candidal vaginitis present with increased leucorrhea, itching and burning sensation of the vulva and vagina, painful urination, redness and edema around the vulva, and various epidermal changes. Very shallow vesicular papules may occur in groups. Eczematous erosions may also form, which are limited to the vulva or extend to the perineum, around the anus, and femoral genital folds, and even to the inner and outer thighs, completely similar to acute or subacute eczema. The mucosa near the labia and clitoris is thickened, and the skin surfaces that contact each other are flushed and eroded. Some may cause tiny white pustules, and in severe cases, ulcers, vulvar pain and local lymphadenopathy may occur.

The vagina has its own defense capabilities and inhibitory effects on vaginal Clostridium difficile. About 10% of women and 30% of pregnant women are carriers of fungi, but they do not have any clinical symptoms. Because Candida albicans grows best in a vaginal environment with a pH value of about 5.5, and under normal conditions of vaginal Clostridium difficile, the pH value of the vagina is between 4 and 4.5, and fungi cannot reproduce even if they exist. Vaginal candidiasis can be alleviated by lavaging the vagina with alkaline disinfectants such as 3% sodium bicarbonate solution, or by keeping the pH value above 5.5 during menstruation.

The above is an explanation of the reasons why red bumps appear on the vulva. From the above introduction, we can see that the reason why red bumps appear on the vulva is caused by candidal vaginitis. Therefore, it is very urgent to treat the red bumps on the vulva. Women should go to the hospital immediately to seek medical treatment and find a solution.
