Why do women urinate frequently at night?

A normal adult urinates 4 to 6 times during the day and 0 to 2 times at night. However, some female friends want to go to the toilet more and more at night, which makes them feel that they have frequent urination and even think that there is something wrong with them. This makes many female friends feel very painful. In order to better understand this knowledge, we must carefully understand the formation process of this phenomenon.

Regarding the issue of frequent urination at night, relevant experts say that there are many reasons why women urinate frequently at night, such as drinking too much water at night and the stimulation of gynecological inflammation. Therefore, if female friends have frequent urination at night, they should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible and receive symptomatic treatment.

Reasons for frequent urination at night in women

1. Inflammatory stimulation: Acute cystitis, tuberculous cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, vulvitis, etc. can all cause frequent urination. Under the stimulation of inflammation, frequent urination, urgency and pain may occur at the same time, which is called urinary tract irritation syndrome.

2. Reduced bladder capacity: such as bladder space-occupying lesions, compression from the enlarged uterus during pregnancy, tuberculous bladder contracture, or large bladder stones.

3. Urethral and seasonal factors: If you have frequent urination but a small amount of urine each time, no painful expression when urinating, and no other symptoms, you should first consider local factors, such as inflammation of the urethral orifice or pinworm irritation of the genitals. In addition, due to seasonal factors, polyuria in winter is a normal phenomenon.

4. Special diseases: If frequent urination is accompanied by large urine volume, and at the same time there is thirst, polydipsia, polyuria, and weight loss, you should pay attention to check the urine. If the urine contains sugar, you should consider diabetes. If there is no sugar in the urine but the specific gravity is low, you should think of diabetes insipidus.

5. Increased urine volume: Under physiological conditions, such as drinking a lot of water, the urine volume will increase due to the increase in water intake, and the frequency of urination will also increase, resulting in frequent urination. Under pathological conditions, such as some patients with diabetes and diabetes insipidus, they drink a lot of water, urinate a lot, and urinate frequently.

It can be seen from this that there are many causes of frequent urination at night in women. Therefore, if female friends have similar phenomena, they must go to the hospital for disease examination and symptomatic treatment as soon as possible to avoid delaying the best time to treat the disease. If we pay more attention to the health of female friends in life, we can better prevent the occurrence of certain diseases.
