How long after having an abortion can I wear a ring?

Wearing an IUD can have a long-term contraceptive effect and is a good contraceptive method. If a female friend does not want a child in a short period of time after having an abortion, she can choose to wear an IUD. Regarding this question of how long after an abortion can you get an IUD, I believe many friends want to know. So, how long after an abortion can you get an IUD? Next, this article will give you a detailed introduction.

The scientific name of the "ring" is intrauterine device, which is placed in the uterine cavity of women of childbearing age to achieve the purpose of abortion and contraception through mechanical stimulation and interference of chemical substances. It does not inhibit ovulation and does not affect the female endocrine system, thus avoiding the adverse reactions of general drug contraceptives.

How long after having an abortion can I get an IUD? If the uterus is well treated after abortion, you can have an IUD inserted immediately. However, if the uterus does not contract well, it is recommended to have another menstruation and go to the hospital to have an IUD inserted 3-7 days after the menstruation has recovered.

One benefit of the IUD is that it avoids having to go to the hospital for curettage and abortion again and again. The most serious harm that curettage abortion does to the female body is that it accidentally injures the basal layer of the endometrium, hindering the regeneration of the endometrium. As we all know, every time a woman has her menstrual period, the upper layer of the endometrium is shed and expelled from the body, and then the endometrium is regenerated by the division of the basal layer cells of the endometrium. Therefore, after the IUD is inserted, during the menstrual period, the upper layer of the endometrium falls off, and the basal layer of the endometrium comes into direct contact with the IUD. The IUD directly kills the basal layer of the endometrium through mechanical scraping and the cytotoxic effect of copper ions. Therefore, 10 to 12 years after the IUD is inserted, all women will have fibrotic lesions in the endometrium.

Objects that should not be placed:

1. People with inflammation of some reproductive organs, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, severe cervical erosion, vaginitis and other inflammations.

2. Frequent menstruation with heavy flow or irregular vaginal bleeding

3. Genital tumors, such as ovarian cancer, uterine fibroids, etc.

4. Very serious systemic diseases, such as severe anemia, heart failure, etc.

5. For those with a loose cervix, severe tearing, or severe uterine prolapse, the IUD may easily fall out even after insertion. Such people are not suitable for contraceptive IUD insertion.

6. If the condition is caused by fever, with a body temperature above 37.5℃, or the cause is unknown, the IUD can only be inserted after the fever subsides.

From the above introduction, we can know that generally you can get an IUD directly after having an abortion. If you have gynecological inflammation after the abortion, it is recommended to cure the gynecological inflammation before getting an IUD. At present, wearing an IUD is very safe and has a good contraceptive effect. Therefore, female friends who need long-term contraception can try this contraceptive method!
