What is vaginal B-ultrasound?

Some women may cause damage to their bodies because they have had painless abortions or have some bad daily living habits. For example, women who have had abortions may be more likely to develop gynecological diseases in the future. It is best for women to have a physical examination on time every year. Many people do not know what kind of examination vaginal B-ultrasound is. What is vaginal B-ultrasound? Let’s take a look at it next.

1. What is vaginal B-ultrasound?

Vaginal ultrasound is the abbreviation of vaginal B-ultrasound, also known as intracavitary B-ultrasound. It is a method of ultrasonic diagnosis by inserting the B-ultrasound probe into the vagina or rectum. It is particularly suitable for observing pelvic organs in the small pelvis.

Compared with abdominal B-ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound images are clearer and more realistic, the results are more accurate, and the person being examined does not have to "hold urine".

2. Inspection methods

1. Usually it is performed after a routine gynecological examination.

2. Ask the patient to urinate and take the lithotomy position.

3. Cover the vaginal probe with a disposable condom and apply disinfectant coupling agent inside and outside the condom.

4. The operator wears gloves, holds the probe handle with his right hand, and slowly inserts the probe into the vaginal vault.

5. Tilt, push, pull, and rotate the probe handle during operation to observe the entire pelvic structure.

6. The patient needs to lie flat on the bed, relax the body and don't be nervous. Excessive nervousness will affect the examination results.

3. Suggested measures

It is best to combine vaginal B-ultrasound with abdominal B-ultrasound, so that the combined results of the examinations will be more accurate.

IV. Precautions for vaginal B-ultrasound:

1. Unmarried women are generally not suitable for vaginal B-ultrasound and need to be examined through the anus.

2. There is no need to hold urine when doing a vaginal B-ultrasound.

3. Patients with vaginal bleeding, vaginitis, or sexually transmitted diseases are not suitable for vaginal B-ultrasound.

5. Advantages of vaginal ultrasound

Vaginal probe has certain advantages over abdominal exploration:

① It has high sensitivity and display rate to uterine artery and ovarian blood flow.

② Shorten the inspection time and obtain accurate Doppler spectrum.

③ No need to fill the bladder.

④ Not affected by body type obesity, abdominal scars, intestinal gas distension, etc.

⑤ Use the movement of the probe tip to find the tenderness of the pelvic organs to determine whether there is pelvic adhesion.
