Causes of vaginal bleeding after sex

When a woman is still immersed in the enjoyment of physical intimacy, and finds that her lower body is bleeding after sex, it is bound to cause a little panic. Vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse is contact bleeding, and the causes are: one is overly rough behavior causing vaginal bleeding, and the other is vaginitis, cervical polyps, cervical erosion, uterine submucosal fibroids, etc. If the amount of bleeding is not much, it is very easy for the patient to ignore it and not go to the hospital for treatment. Little do they know that this small bleeding may lead to cervical cancer. A minor illness may be delayed into a major illness and the opportunity for treatment will be lost. Therefore, if you bleed after intercourse, you should go to a regular gynecological hospital for examination in time.

The main reasons for vaginal bleeding after intercourse are as follows:

1. Damage to the hymen. The most common is rupture of the hymen during first sexual intercourse. This bleeding usually occurs during sexual intercourse. There may be pain and bleeding at the time, but the amount of bleeding is usually not much. If the injury is not serious, the bleeding will stop soon. However, sometimes when the rupture of the hymen happens to damage the blood vessels in that area, bleeding is heavy and requires pressure to stop the bleeding (such as using a clean cotton ball or gauze, a clean towel, etc.), or even going to the hospital for treatment.

2. Vaginal laceration. Vaginal bleeding occurs during or after sexual intercourse and the amount of bleeding is heavy, difficult to stop on its own, and lasts for a long time. Vaginal lacerations often occur during involuntary sexual intercourse or very rough sexual intercourse. Vaginal lacerations are also seen in vaginal malformations, such as vaginal septum, transverse septum, double vagina, and vaginal stenosis. If the vaginal wound heals poorly after vaginal plastic surgery, hymen repair, vaginal tumor removal surgery, or hysterectomy, sexual intercourse may easily cause damage. Improper sexual posture and position can also cause vaginal injury and bleeding. The amount of bleeding depends on the location and extent of the injury.

Vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse cannot be ignored. If bleeding symptoms occur repeatedly after sexual intercourse, you should go to the hospital for examination to rule out the possibility of gynecological inflammation. It may also be an early symptom of cervical cancer. It is important to identify the condition and receive targeted treatment as early as possible to avoid causing unnecessary harm to the female friend's body.
