What should I do if I have abdominal pain after giving birth?

After going through ten months of pregnancy, pregnant women’s life will not become any easier after giving birth because they still need to breastfeed the baby. However, many women still feel abdominal pain after giving birth. This may be caused by the fact that the surgical incision has not healed yet and the uterus has not recovered after long-term expansion. Therefore, in addition to conditioning the body, women after childbirth also need to pay more attention to the recovery of the uterus and wounds. Some conditioning methods will be discussed below.

1. Get enough sleep

Poor sleep is not only unhelpful for losing belly fat after childbirth, but harmful. Lack of sleep can easily cause accumulation of toxins in the body, affect the quality of breast milk, and be harmful to the baby. In addition, the accumulation of toxins will affect the metabolism of fat and hinder weight loss. Therefore, mothers should ensure adequate sleep. High-quality sleep can also help maintain a good mood and aid in postpartum recovery.

2. Eat a balanced diet

Since the baby's nutrition basically comes from breast milk during breastfeeding, the mother's nutrition must keep up at this time. New mothers should pay attention to their diet, eat more vegetables, fruits and milk, and less French fries and cola.

3. Abdominal massage

Do more abdominal massage after taking a bath. Since you have just given birth, you need to control the strength of the massage and not use too much force. Massage in circles around the navel, or gently rub the belly up and down.

4. Take a walk

Don’t sit down to rest immediately after dinner. You can take a walk after dinner, which is very helpful for losing belly fat after childbirth. The correct way to walk is to keep your head and chest up, take big steps, and walk approximately 60 to 80 meters per minute.

5. Sit-ups

After the body has basically recovered, the mother can do sit-ups to lose belly fat. The correct way is: lift your body 10 to 20 centimeters off the ground, tighten your abdominal muscles and pause for a moment, then slowly lower your body back to its original position.

If the abdominal pain of the mother gradually disappears through diet, exercise, massage, etc., then it is normal physiological pain. However, if the pain does not disappear for a long time, it is likely that the uterus has not been completely cleaned after delivery and caused inflammation, so she needs to go to the hospital for examination and treatment.
