Why does my left lower abdomen hurt during pregnancy?

Many pregnant women are first-time mothers during pregnancy and of course do not have much experience. When they experience some lower abdominal pain, some mothers will make a fuss, while others will not take it seriously. They do not correctly realize the seriousness of the situation. Sisters should go to the hospital for some examinations in time according to their own symptoms, and tell the doctor which parts of the body are painful in time.

Generally speaking, left-side abdominal pain in early pregnancy is caused by two changes: Physiological changes: If the embryo implants in the early pregnancy, a small number of women will experience implantation pain. As the uterus grows, the round ligament of the uterus is stretched, and many pregnant women feel abdominal pain. This pain is located on one or both sides of the uterus in the lower abdomen, and is referred pain, dull pain or lack of pain. The pain becomes more obvious when walking a long distance or changing body position.

Pathological changes: If a pregnant woman experiences abdominal pain, especially pain in the lower abdomen, the first thing she should consider is whether it is a pregnancy complication. Common complications include threatened miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy. If a pregnant woman experiences paroxysmal lower abdominal pain or regular abdominal pain, back pain, or pelvic pain in the first few months of pregnancy, the problem may be more complicated. If it is accompanied by vaginal spotting or a noticeable feeling of abdominal heaviness, it may indicate threatened miscarriage. If you experience severe unilateral lower abdominal pain, accompanied by vaginal bleeding or fainting, it may be an ectopic pregnancy.

In the early stages of pregnancy, pregnant mothers may experience abdominal pain and bleeding. In this case, it is recommended to undergo appropriate examinations to determine whether it is an ectopic pregnancy. If the embryonic sac is not seen in the uterus after more than 7 weeks of pregnancy, it may be an ectopic pregnancy and further examinations should be conducted to prevent the ectopic pregnancy from breaking, internal bleeding in pregnant women, or even life-threatening.

If a pregnant woman has lower abdominal pain and bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy, it is very likely a symptom of threatened abortion. She must not be careless and must pay attention to her diet. During the rest period, she should eat more nutritious foods, avoid eating foods that can promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, try to rest in bed, and avoid strenuous exercise and sexual intercourse.
