What should I do if I have vaginal warts?

Genital warts refer to a common sexually transmitted disease that occurs on the genitals, most commonly on the external surface of the genitals. For female patients with genital warts, they may also appear inside the vagina. This situation will bring certain difficulties to the treatment. Let's take a look at the treatments for genital warts and which methods are more suitable for treating genital warts inside the female vagina.

Traditional Chinese medicine treatment of condyloma acuminatum:

Treatment 1: External wash recipe for condyloma: 30g of Polygonum cuspidatum, 30g of Gentiana scabra, 30g of Rhubarb, 20g of Red Peony Root, 30g of Pomegranate Peel, 20g of Alum, 30g of Curcuma Atractylodes, 30g of Lithospermum officinale. Boil in water into 2000ml and scrub the warts with slightly wet solution for 15-20 minutes, twice a day.

The second method is to use appropriate amounts of crystal paste, lime water and glutinous rice. Soak glutinous rice in lime water for 24-36 hours, mash the glutinous rice into a paste for later use. Apply the paste directly on the wart once a day until the wart falls off.

After local anesthesia, place the moxa cone on the wart, light it and let it burn out. Depending on the size of the wart, 1-3 moxa cones are used each time, once a day, until the wart falls off.

Treatment 4: Fire needle: Under local anesthesia, use a fire needle to pierce the wart from the top to the base of the wart. Depending on the size of the wart, 1 to 3 times for each wart until it falls off.

Treatment 5. Brucea preparations often use single Brucea or a combination of Brucea to make oils, pastes, and ointments that are directly applied to warts to cause them to wither and fall off. It is somewhat irritating, so you should be careful about the dosage and usage of Brucea javanica.

Not only does traditional Chinese medicine have a good treatment for condyloma acuminatum, but Western medicine also has corresponding treatment measures:

1. Surgical treatment

Single, small warts can be removed surgically; giant warts can be removed using Mohs surgery, with frozen sections used to check whether the lesions have been removed cleanly.

2. Cryotherapy

Using liquid nitrogen at a low temperature of -196℃, the freezing method is used to treat genital warts, which promotes the necrosis and shedding of wart tissue. This method is suitable for warts with a small number and small area. 1-2 treatments can be performed with an interval of one week.

3. Laser treatment

Genital warts are usually treated with a CO2 laser and ablative therapy. This treatment is most suitable for warts on the vulva, penis, or perianal area. Single or a small number of multiple warts can be treated once, while multiple or large warts can be treated 2-3 times, with an interval of one week between them.

4. Electrocautery

Use high-frequency electroacupuncture or electrosurgery to remove warts. Method: Local anesthesia, followed by electrocautery. This treatment is suitable for warts with a small number and small area.

Treatment options:

① Warts of medium or smaller size visible on the external genitalia of both sexes (single wart diameter <0.5 cm, wart cluster diameter <1 cm, number of warts <15) are generally treated with topical medications.

② For warts in the urethra and perianal area of males, and in the vestibule, urethral orifice, vaginal wall and cervical orifice of females; or if the size and number of warts in both males and females exceed the above standards, physical treatment is recommended.

③If there are still a small amount of warts remaining after physical therapy, topical medications can be used for treatment.

④Whether it is drug treatment or physical therapy, an acetic acid white test must be performed to try to eliminate damage including subclinical infection to reduce recurrence.

The above content introduces several common methods for treating genital warts. The treatment method can be selected according to factors such as the size of the genital warts and the location of occurrence. These methods introduced are only for your reference. You need to listen to the doctor's advice before making a choice based on the specific situation. In addition, because genital warts are a sexually transmitted disease that is prone to recurrence, regular follow-up after treatment is also important.
