What are the causes of candidal vaginitis?

Many women are troubled by abnormal leucorrhea, and some women's leucorrhea even has a strange smell. In fact, most of these situations are caused by vaginitis, among which Candida vaginitis is the most common. Understanding the causes of candidal vaginitis is very helpful for treating candidal vaginitis, but many women lack knowledge in this area. Let me explain the causes of candidal vaginitis.

Primary: Most normal women have a certain amount of bacteria in their vagina. The most suitable pH value for Candida albicans reproduction is 5.5 ̄6.5. When the glycogen in the vagina increases and the acidity increases, it will rapidly reproduce and cause inflammation. This is more common in pregnant women, diabetic patients and those who receive large amounts of estrogen. Long-term use of antibiotics will change the mutual inhibition relationship between microorganisms in the vagina, which can also make it easy for Candida albicans to reproduce and cause infection.

Secondary: Candida in the oral cavity, intestinal tract and vaginal mucosa can be transmitted to each other, and the disease is prone to occur when the local environmental conditions are suitable.

Clinical data show that the incidence of Candida vaginitis has been on the rise in recent years. Approximately 75% of women will have at least one attack in their lifetime, 40%-50% may be infected repeatedly (2-3 times/year), and 4%-5% of women may be infected repeatedly (≥4 times/year).

After pregnancy, the body's immunity decreases, the estrogen level in the body increases, and the acidity in the vagina increases, which is conducive to the growth of Candida. Moreover, estrogen can also bind to the hormone receptors on the surface of Candida and promote the onset of the disease.

In addition, sexual contact, contaminated clothing and utensils, unsterilized sanitary napkins, toilet paper and panty liners can also cause candidal vaginitis. Candida is a fungus, and the one that usually causes vaginitis is Candida albicans.

In addition to the above factors, the editor would like to add that Candida is not resistant to heat, so patients can put their underwear under the sun, which is very helpful in killing the bacteria in the underwear. As we all know, maintaining vaginal hygiene is also helpful in improving vaginitis, so patients also need to wash their vagina every day.
