Lower back pain after salpingography

Lower back pain after salpingography

Many women with bilateral fallopian tube diseases will undergo angiography after following the doctor's advice, but many patients report experiencing abdominal pain afterwards. This is generally caused by the angiography tube entering the uterine cavity and stimulating the uterus. After the angiography is completed, this pain generally disappears on its own. What should I do if I have lower back pain after angiography?

It is related to the blockage or obstruction of the fallopian tubes and the patient's low tolerance to pain. It is normal for patients to experience abdominal pain after angiography. Generally, the recovery period is 7 days after surgery. Female patients need to undergo postoperative care and promotion to avoid inflammation, infection, etc. after angiography.

General precautions after angiography:

1. Do not take a sitting bath or have sexual intercourse for two weeks after the angiography examination. Antibiotics may be considered to prevent infection.

2. Sometimes, bilateral tubal spasm may cause the illusion of tubal obstruction, and the procedure should be repeated if necessary.

3. If you have a small amount of vaginal bleeding within one week after the angiography examination and have no other discomfort, it is normal. If the bleeding is more than the menstrual volume or you have other discomfort, you should contact your doctor.

4. It is best to take contraceptive measures for three months after the angiography examination to reduce the possible impact of direct X-rays. However, clinical observations have found that women who become pregnant this month after angiography do not have an increased risk of fetal abnormalities.

There are many reasons for abdominal pain after angiography. It may be due to the insertion of the angiography tube, which causes the incompatibility between the uterus and the fallopian tubes. It may also be that the patient's pain tolerance is relatively poor, which leads to discomfort. Generally speaking, these will eventually disappear on their own. If the pain persists, it is recommended to go to the hospital for consultation and treatment.
