What are the causes of small pimples on the labia?

The labia is a very important reproductive organ for women. Once any lesions occur, it will make women very nervous. In daily life, many women find small bumps on their labia. Because they don’t know what causes them, they are very nervous when they appear, fearing that it will cause more serious consequences. So, what are the reasons for small bumps on the labia? Let’s take a closer look below.

Small bumps on the vulva may be vestibular gland cysts. The outlet of the greater vestibular gland is located on the inner side of the vulva, and bacteria can easily invade and cause inflammation. Generally, bacteria first invade the epithelium of the Bartholin's gland ducts, causing the mucosa to swell, or the uterine adhesions occur after the tissue at the opening of the duct is destroyed, causing the opening of the duct to be blocked, and the secretions cannot be discharged, thus forming a Bartholin's gland cyst. It is often unilateral and of varying sizes. It may also be an early manifestation of vulvar inflammation.

Another possible reason for small bumps on the vulva is vulvar folliculitis: this is caused by a large amount of leucorrhea irritating the skin in the labia area. In daily life, the vulva is easily contaminated with urine, feces, and leucorrhea, so that the vulva skin is often in a humid environment, which is suitable for bacterial growth. At this time, if the vulvar skin is abraded, or if hygiene is not paid attention to, or the body's resistance is reduced, the hair follicles and surrounding tissues will be infected by staphylococci and other bacteria, which will cause local vulvar folliculitis.

There are other possibilities for small bumps on the vulva: one is caused by human papillomavirus infection, called genital warts; the other is caused by general vaginal inflammation due to excessive leucorrhea and irritation, called pseudo-warts. Pseudocondyloma is a very common vulvar manifestation, which manifests as velvety or villous protrusions on the inner side of the labia minora. They may be pink or slightly transparent, roe-like, and of relatively uniform size, with no subjective symptoms.

The above is an introduction to the reasons why small bumps grow on the labia. I hope it will be helpful for women to understand. There are three main causes of small bumps on the labia. Among them, genital warts are a very serious sexually transmitted disease. Once it occurs, we must pay enough attention to it and choose to go to a regular hospital for diagnosis and treatment to prevent more serious consequences to our health.
