What are the precautions for labiaplasty?

Now that people's living standards are high, they are very concerned about their body imperfections, and plastic surgery has become something women are very keen on. Not only general beauty treatments, many women are not shy about plastic surgery on their private parts. However, when performing plastic surgery on such a sensitive area, one still needs to be more concerned about the precautions. So, what are the precautions for labiaplasty? Let’s take a closer look below.

Preoperative precautions

1. Preoperative examination excludes inflammation. If the patient is found to have gynecological inflammation, treatment is required before surgery;

2. No sexual intercourse 3 days before surgery;

3. Three days before the operation, wash the vulva with lotion every day to keep it clean;

4. Stop taking any medications, vitamins, and other nutritional supplements before surgery to prevent them from affecting wound healing and increasing intraoperative bleeding;

5. Stop smoking for one week before surgery. Smoking reduces the concentration of oxygen in the blood and affects wound healing.

6. Stop drinking alcohol within 24 hours before surgery, as drinking alcohol accelerates blood circulation and increases intraoperative bleeding;

Postoperative precautions

1. Apply ice packs locally for 2 to 4 hours after surgery to reduce local bleeding and hematoma. Be careful not to let the ice pack come into direct contact with the wound.

2. Remove the hemostatic sutures 24 hours after surgery.

3. Remove the urinary catheter 24 to 48 hours after surgery.

4. Keep the vulva clean and clean the wound with a cotton ball containing Sanisol once a day. Clean the vulva promptly after urination and defecation.

5. Remove the sutures on the 4th day after surgery.

6. Antibiotics should be used after surgery to prevent and treat infection.

The above is an introduction to the precautions for labiaplasty. I hope it will be helpful for women. With the continuous development of private cosmetic surgery technology, many hospitals or beauty institutions have this technology. The key is to choose a formal hospital to carry out the cosmetic surgery and pay attention to these precautions, so that you can achieve the effect you are satisfied with.
