What causes postmenopausal bleeding?

Women are relatively fragile individuals, because nowadays women often worry about a series of problems, especially older women, who are more worried about their physiological problems. Because women of this age are most prone to problems, they will not only worry about themselves but also affect their family life. Postmenopausal bleeding is a relatively rare symptom in women. Let’s take a look at the introduction of postmenopausal bleeding.

Women enter menopause and their periods stop coming. If vaginal bleeding occurs again after more than one year of amenorrhea, it is often an early sign of disease. The most common sites of postmenopausal vaginal bleeding are the vulva, vagina, and uterus. The most common of these is uterine bleeding, and it is also the most complicated. Vaginal bleeding after menopause can be benign or malignant. The more common benign diseases include senile vaginitis, endometritis, cervical polyps, endometrial polyps, uterine stroke syndrome, and prolonged placement of intrauterine contraceptive devices after menopause; the more common malignant diseases include endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, etc. Among them, endometrial cancer accounts for about 80% of all postmenopausal bleeding.

Women who experience postmenopausal bleeding should go to the hospital for examination immediately and not be careless. Especially for obese women, those who have been postmenopausal for more than 10 years, have multiple vaginal bleedings, and those who have bleeding for more than one month should highly suspect the possibility of cancer.

The rarest situation is recurrent postmenopausal bleeding, and no cause has been found after various examinations. If the patient can generally tolerate and is willing to undergo surgery, laparotomy and complete hysterectomy and oophorectomy may be performed to prevent future complications.

The symptom of postmenopausal bleeding is a very rare problem. Most women will return to their normal state after menopause, and menopausal women will have no symptoms after menopause. However, women who experience postmenopausal bleeding are very worried about this. Through the above introduction, we can know that postmenopausal bleeding is a manifestation of a disease and women need to seek timely treatment.
