How to diagnose and treat borderline ovarian cysts

How to diagnose and treat borderline ovarian cysts

Nowadays, the problem of ovarian cysts has seriously affected women's fertility, and the probability of this problem occurring among infertile couples is getting higher and higher. Therefore, women must take precautions, because this type of cyst actually has malignant lesions. Therefore, women only need to understand it more comprehensively so that they can remind themselves to take preventive measures and adopt the most scientific treatment methods.

Borderline ovarian tumors, also known as tumors of low malignant potential, account for approximately 10-15% of ovarian epithelial malignancies. Because of its good prognosis, young patients who have not yet given birth can undergo fertility-preserving surgery. Among them, infertile patients also need ovulation induction treatment.

Diagnosis of borderline ovarian cysts

The diagnosis of borderline ovarian cysts is mainly based on microscopic histological examination. The WHO diagnostic criteria for histology are:

(1) Cell stratification;

(2) The nuclei are densely stained and lobed, with a certain degree of atypia;

(3) The cell group detaches from the original attachment site and moves to other places;

(4) No interstitial invasion.

Borderline ovarian cyst treatment

Borderline ovarian cysts can be treated with conservative surgery, but traditional surgery may lead to recurrence. For patients with ovarian borderline tumors who are of childbearing age and have fertility requirements, surgery to preserve fertility can be considered, such as the current best minimally invasive laparoscopic combined surgery.

Because women are actually very susceptible to the impact and harm of some diseases, especially some gynecological problems, so every woman should pay attention to her physical health check-up in her daily life. Only by doing regular check-ups can you understand your health status and avoid more adverse harms.
