What are the pathological manifestations of cervical erosion?

Cervical erosion is a relatively common gynecological disease nowadays. For women, if its treatment is neglected, it will have a very great impact and threat to their reproductive health and fertility. Therefore, female friends must not ignore the treatment of cervical erosion. Now we have a specific understanding of the pathological manifestations of cervical erosion. We hope that female friends can learn more about this disease and remind themselves to take precautions.

Pathological manifestations of cervical erosion

1. True erosion: Since the surface of the cervix is often covered with a lot of mucus or purulent secretions, these secretions have long stimulated and soaked the squamous epithelium around the external os of the cervix. Coupled with the inflammatory infiltration of the deep tissues of the cervix, the squamous epithelium covering the surface of the cervix loses its vitality and falls off, forming ulcers. This is true erosion.

2. Pseudoerosion: The pathological concept of erosion refers to "shedding of the surface epithelium", and the cervical erosion commonly seen in clinical work is mostly the red area around the external os of the cervix. During colposcopy, after applying 3% acetic acid on the surface of the red area, it can be seen that the red area locally presents "grape bunch" changes, which is caused by columnar epithelial edema. If a biopsy is performed on the area, columnar epithelium can be seen under the microscope. Therefore, if we strictly follow the pathological definition of erosion, this does not belong to erosion, so some people suggest calling it pseudo-erosion, which is the classification of cervical erosion.

I hope that after reading the above introduction, female friends will have a more comprehensive understanding of cervical erosion. When this disease occurs, it must not be ignored, and the treatment cannot be blind, and medication cannot be used indiscriminately. Because for women, cervical health issues are very critical. If you blindly use medication for treatment, it may cause greater harm.
