There are small bumps around the areola

Under normal circumstances, women do have small bumps around their areola. Medically, it is called: Montgomery's gland, which is especially obvious after pregnancy and is called Montgomery's tubercle. This is due to the influence of hormone levels in the body. Small bumps will appear on the areola. These are normal phenomena. If you are still worried, you can try to check your breasts yourself.

The correct way to examine the breasts is to stretch out your palms flat, put your four fingers together, and use the most sensitive fingertips of your index, middle, and ring fingers to gently touch the upper outside, lower outside, lower inside, and upper inside areas of the breast in order, and finally check the nipple and areola area in the middle of the breast.

Starting from a sitting position, any inverted nipple, sunken skin, or abnormal structure or shape are clues to deep breast cancer. If the patient claps her hands above her head to contract her pectoral muscles, the above signs will appear. It is convenient for women to check the lymph nodes above and below the clavicle and under the armpits when they are in a sitting position. Finally, they need to sit for palpation. Use the fingers together to touch the area under the nipple. Lie on your back for palpation of a wider area. Place a pillow under the ipsilateral breast and raise the hand on the same side over the head so that the breast is evenly spread on the chest wall, making it easy for the fingers to touch deep breast cancer. Use the palm of the index, middle, and ring finger, rather than the fingertips, for palpation. The palpation should be in a circular motion, rotating laterally from the nipple to the outside. It is especially important to check the breast that extends to the armpit.

Breast examination should first observe the development of the mammary gland, whether the breasts on both sides are symmetrical, whether they are similar in size, whether the nipples on both sides are at the same level, whether the nipples are retracted and sunken, whether there is erosion of the nipple and areola, the color of the breast skin, whether there is edema and orange peel-like changes, whether there are inflammatory manifestations such as redness and swelling, whether the superficial veins in the mammary gland area are dilated, etc.

After reading this, do you feel relieved and at ease? You can also perform self-examination of your breasts every once in a while to feel more at ease. Finally, I would like to give you a suggestion. You should always wear comfortable underwear, no matter the fabric or size, to take better care of yourself.
