When should I do B-ultrasound when I am pregnant?

Once you are pregnant, you must go to the hospital for regular pregnancy checkups and physical examinations. Of course, mothers also want to see their children. B-ultrasound not only checks the mother's health status, but also checks the child's growth and development. However, can we see the baby through B-ultrasound in the early stage of pregnancy? When should we do B-ultrasound in the early stage of pregnancy?

When to do B-ultrasound in early pregnancy

Once a female friend becomes pregnant, she hopes to go to the hospital to use B-ultrasound to check on her fetus. However, the fetus must grow to a certain extent before it can be seen. It is impossible to see it when the baby is just conceived. Therefore, many mothers who are eager to see the fetus are anxious. So, how long does it take for a baby to have an ultrasound?

How long can I wait before receiving an ultrasound examination? Under normal circumstances, pregnant women should receive an ultrasound examination in the early stages of pregnancy (approximately 12 weeks). Pregnant women should avoid having ultrasound examinations too early or repeatedly. Early B-ultrasound may shock the sensitive newly produced test tube embryos, which is not conducive to the embryonic development process. Ultrasound examinations are performed in the early stages of pregnancy to determine whether the woman is pregnant and the duration of pregnancy, to provide a reliable basis for estimating the time of delivery of the pregnant woman, and to promptly handle any abnormalities in the embryonic development process.

The second ultrasound examination is usually performed in the second trimester (approximately 20 weeks of pregnancy). At this time, there is relatively more amniotic fluid in the uterus, the size of the fetus is relatively moderate, and there is relatively large space for movement in the uterus. For B-ultrasound examination, there is a very good contrast, and all the organs of the fetus can be clearly seen. Significant malformations, such as congenital heart disease, anencephaly, hydrocephalus, spina bifida, abdominal cavity rupture, short limbs, polycystic kidney, digestive system atresia, etc. , very easy to be discovered. If necessary, medical treatment or termination of pregnancy can be initiated immediately.

The third B-ultrasound examination should be arranged at the end of pregnancy (about 28 weeks), mainly to understand the growth and development of the fetus in the uterus and to check whether there are any abnormalities in the fetus. Due to some medical conditions in the second trimester, ultrasound examination may not be able to be processed in time. If the pregnant woman has not given birth half a month after the estimated due date, the doctor may recommend another B-ultrasound examination to understand the embryo, amniotic fluid, fetal position and other conditions, which will help the doctor decide which delivery method is safe. If the pregnant woman suffers from some diseases, B-ultrasound is more important. The frequency and time of ultrasound examinations during pregnancy should be allocated by the doctor based on the pregnancy status.

Pregnant mothers who want to see their fetuses should not be too anxious. They should wait until the fetuses look good and bigger before going to see them. Finally, I would like to remind all pregnant mothers to have regular prenatal check-ups, which is the prerequisite for ensuring the normal and healthy growth and development of the baby.
