Why is the blood lighter during menstruation?

We all know that girls have a few special days every month, during which time they will have menstrual blood. Some girls will find that something is different during this period, that is, the color of their menstrual blood is light. Why is this? Is there some problem with their body?

Some women have normal menstrual cycles, but the menstrual flow is very little, or even just a little bit; some women have a very short menstrual period, less than 2 days, and the menstrual flow is very light. Traditional Chinese medicine calls this phenomenon oligomenorrhea. According to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, women’s scanty menstruation may be related to the following factors:

(1) Light color and small amount of menstrual blood indicates blood deficiency: physical blood deficiency or traumatic bleeding, postpartum hemorrhage, and postoperative bleeding can all cause blood deficiency in the body, resulting in insufficient blood and reduced menstrual flow.

(2) Light color and scanty menstruation indicate kidney deficiency: congenital deficiency of kidney qi and kidney essence, or damage to the kidneys due to excessive sexual intercourse, excessive births, artificial abortions, etc., resulting in insufficient kidney qi, insufficient essence and blood, and an empty sea of blood, leading to a decrease in menstrual volume.

(3) Blood stasis: If women are exposed to cold during menstruation, their bodies may be invaded by the evil cold, causing the blood to coagulate. If women quarrel with others or feel depressed during menstruation, this may lead to qi stagnation and blood stasis. If women are injured and cause blood stasis, these may cause menstrual blood to stagnate and result in scanty menstruation.

(4) Phlegm-dampness: Obese women have a phlegm-dampness body type. Phlegm-dampness blocks the meridians, causing poor blood flow and resulting in scanty menstruation. Some women who take birth control pills for a long time may experience a gradual decrease in menstruation. When a girl reaches her first menstruation, the amount of menstruation is usually not much, and when a woman reaches menopause, it is a normal physiological phenomenon and neither requires treatment.

After reading the above introduction, I believe everyone has a better understanding of some knowledge in this aspect. In fact, this phenomenon will occur in many girls. As long as we treat it calmly and go to the hospital for examination as soon as the problem is discovered, then this problem will naturally be solved. However, it still depends on your subsequent care. I hope everyone will pay more attention.
