Is it normal to have your period a week early?

In daily life, many girls don’t know much about menstruation. They just know that there are a few days every month when what we call “period” comes, and it’s a bit uncomfortable, and severe cases are called dysmenorrhea. For some girls, their menstrual periods may not be so regular when they just start menstruating. Some may have intervals of twenty-five or twenty-six days, while others may have their periods come a few days earlier. Some may be delayed for a few days or even a week. In fact, this is normal before the menstrual period becomes regular.

Well, it is normal to have menstruation delayed or advanced occasionally after it becomes regular, because mood and mental stress are also factors that affect menstruation. Even abnormal diet for weight loss is one of the reasons, which all require attention.

The normal menstrual cycle is 28-30 days. It is normal for menstruation to be advanced or delayed by 7 days without other obvious discomfort symptoms.

1. If you suffer from certain diseases, including local inflammation, tumors and developmental abnormalities of the reproductive organs, malnutrition; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions such as thyroid diseases, or long-term medication, it will cause irregular menstruation.

2. If a woman suffers from neuroendocrine dysfunction, it is mainly due to unstable or defective function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis, that is, menstrual disorder.

3. If women consume excessive amounts of spicy food and supplements or take them for a long time, or are depressed for a long time, or have a long-term illness and lose a lot of blood, they are prone to blood heat, which can also cause early menstruation. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the causes of early menstruation are most closely related to the following two factors. Heat in the blood: People who have excessive yang energy in their constitution, or who consume excessive amounts of spicy food and supplements, or who are depressed, or who have lost a lot of blood due to long-term illness, are prone to heat in the blood. When the blood gets hot, it flows more quickly, causing the menstrual period to come earlier. Qi deficiency: People who have irregular diet or overwork are most likely to damage their spleen. The spleen is the "manager" of blood. If the "manager" is weak, the "managed" will inevitably take the opportunity to "make trouble", causing menstruation to come early.

If girls or women have similar symptoms, they may wish to do a self-examination to see which one they have. If they do not have any of the above symptoms, then congratulations, it is normal. If you have one of the symptoms, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for a check-up and never take medicine indiscriminately. Be sure to seek treatment under the advice of a doctor.
