Long-term supine sleeping can easily cause retroverted uterus

The uterus of most women is in an anteverted position, in which the cervix is ​​lower than the uterine body, allowing menstrual blood to flow out smoothly, and also facilitating the entry of sperm and successful pregnancy.

If you sleep on your back for a long time, the uterus will lean back due to its own weight, which may cause the uterus to become retroverted. As a result, the body of the uterus tilts backward and the cervix tilts upward.

Many symptoms are related to the position of the uterus

Among the three positions of the uterus, there are fewer sisters in the median and retroverted uterus. A median uterus generally does not have any special effects, but if the uterus becomes posterior, then there may be effects. Clinically, retroverted uterus is divided into grades. Dysmenorrhea and infertility may be caused by retroverted uterus

Why does a retroverted uterus cause dysmenorrhea and difficulty in conceiving? The reason is actually very simple. If a multiparous woman sleeps on her back for a long time, the ligaments that have already relaxed due to pregnancy and childbirth will become even more relaxed, increasing the possibility and speed of retroversion of the uterus.

During my years of work, I have found that women have retroverted uterus, and some severe cases have already developed various symptoms. However, when I asked them, I found that most of them did not understand the important relationship between long-term supine sleeping and retroverted uterus.

Once the retroverted and flexed uterus is fixed and formed, it is difficult to recover, which can cause irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, backflow of menstrual blood into the pelvic and abdominal cavity causing endometriosis, infertility or difficulty in pregnancy, easy residual abortion, difficulty in placing an IUD, long-term compression and traction on the pelvic veins leading to pelvic venous congestion syndrome with symptoms of low back and abdominal pain, etc.
