Chronic adnexitis

Chronic adnexitis

The so-called chronic adnexitis is an inflammatory infection of the female uterine appendages. It is not simply an organ, but the surrounding tissues including the uterus, such as the fallopian tubes and pelvic cavity are invaded by inflammation. In other words, it is a combination of many organs invaded by inflammation. Therefore, for women who have not yet given birth, suffering from chronic adnexitis may affect their future fertility.

Although chronic adnexitis usually occurs after women give birth, the change in women's sexual attitudes, premature sexual life and frequent miscarriages have led to the high incidence of chronic adnexitis today. So what are the specific causes of chronic adnexitis?

1. After delivery or abortion, due to the decrease in the patient's resistance, the pathogens ascend through the damaged reproductive tract and spread to the fallopian tubes and ovaries, and then spread to the entire pelvic cavity, causing inflammation.

2. While intrauterine contraceptive devices are widely used, patients do not pay attention to personal hygiene or the surgical procedures are not strict, resulting in this condition.

3. Uterine cavity operations performed without strict disinfection, such as vacuum extraction, hysterosalpingography, cervical canal treatment, and obstetric surgery infections without strict disinfection.

4. Not paying attention to menstrual hygiene, having sexual intercourse during menstruation or unclean sexual intercourse, etc.

5. If infections in other parts of the body are not treated promptly, the pathogens can spread through the bloodstream and cause fallopian tube and oophoritis, which is more common in tuberculosis diseases.

6. Inflammation of organs adjacent to the pelvic cavity or fallopian tubes: For example, in case of appendicitis, it can directly spread to cause salpingitis, oophoritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and peritonitis. The inflammation usually occurs in the adjacent fallopian tube and ovary.

7. Sexually transmitted diseases: such as gonorrhea. After infection, gonococci can spread upward along the mucous membrane, causing inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries.

The above is the analysis of the cause of chronic adnexitis. If you often have lower abdominal pain, it is recommended that you do relevant examinations, especially for women who also have increased leucorrhea and menstrual disorders. It is necessary to examine the uterine adnexae to see if you have chronic adnexitis.
