It’s still cold in spring, don’t let your baby get “heatstroke”! “Heat retention syndrome” should not be ignored

It is chilly in spring. Some parents not only dress their babies in thick clothes, but also turn on the air conditioner or light a fire. This may cause the baby to suffer from the "warmth killer" - "heatstroke syndrome".

1. What is heat stroke syndrome?

Heatstroke syndrome, also known as blanket hypoxia syndrome , is caused by the baby being over-warmed or covered for too long,** leading to hypoxia, high fever, sweating, dehydration and other symptoms. **This disease mostly occurs in infants under 1 year old, especially newborns, and the peak period is from November to April of the following year.

2. What are the clinical manifestations of heat stroke syndrome?

1. High fever , profuse sweating, wet clothes, crying and restlessness;

2. Dehydration , sunken eye sockets, blue lips, pale face, weak crying, and refusal to feed;

3. Abnormal breathing , bluish lips and mouth, lack of oxygen;

4. The nervous system may show poor spirit, slow reaction, and even convulsion and coma;

5. In severe cases, multiple system functions may be damaged and the baby may even die within a short period of time.

3. How to deal with heat stroke syndrome?

1. Immediately loosen your clothes and quilts and get out of the high temperature environment;

2. Wipe off sweat in time and put on dry clothes to prevent cold;

3. Go to the hospital in time to seek help from relevant professionals, find out the cause, and provide symptomatic treatment.

4. How to prevent heat stroke syndrome?

1. Ensure that the temperature and humidity in the baby's room are suitable, ** the temperature should be kept at 24-26℃, the humidity should be kept at 50-60%, the room should be ventilated, ** each time for 15-30 minutes, avoid direct convection wind, and keep warm;

2. In cold seasons, avoid wrapping babies too tightly, too tightly, or too thickly, otherwise it will be detrimental to heat dissipation . Add more clothes to your child appropriately, and choose loose and breathable cotton clothes to facilitate movement and sweat discharge;

3. Parents should be careful not to let their children sleep under their mothers' arms with the nipple in their mouths, and should not cover their children with too many blankets . It is recommended that mother and child be separated to prevent the child's head from being accidentally covered after falling asleep, especially the mouth and nose.
