Come and have a look: You may have been cutting your nails wrong all along!!!

Today I want to tell you how to trim your nails correctly. Although it seems to be a small and common thing, most people make mistakes (including myself. Before I studied medicine, I made this mistake myself). Today I will give you a direct scientific explanation. Everyone, listen carefully!!!

Let’s first look at the anatomical structure of nails to facilitate understanding of the subsequent content.

You would say who doesn’t know how to cut nails?

It is true that most nails will look the same after a month, no matter how much or how little they are cut. However, if the two big toes are cut incorrectly, they may form ingrown nails, which means the nails grow into the flesh. It is very painful! In addition, paronychia is an inflammation of the nail groove, and ingrown nails are just one of the causes.

The main problem with trimming is over-trimming. The big toe in the picture below was trimmed too much.

The nail plate and lateral nail folds mentioned in the last issue are close to each other, but they also squeeze each other.

If one side is missing (the nail plate is trimmed too much), the side nail folds without the restriction of the nail plate will grow towards the middle and occupy the territory of the nail plate. So when the nail plate grows back to this place, it will find that there is no place left, so it has to grow into the flesh!

So please note that the correct way to cut is this:

If you exercise more, the nail piercing your flesh will be more obvious. Some people cut off the ingrown nails themselves or go to a nail shop to trim them again, which is a vicious cycle again and again. Some people only go to the hospital for treatment after their nails are trimmed like this. In fact, the correction of ingrown nails is to coordinate the relationship between the nail plate and the side nail fold (the flesh on the side). The two are like husband and wife, they can't be too far apart, nor too close.

In fact, for relatively mild cases, you only need to pad the outer corner of the nail that is embedded in the flesh, separate the nail folds, and prevent them from being too close.

If there is hyperplasia, deal with the sick party and then coordinate the relationship.

Some patients only know to trim the visible parts

The invisible part keeps growing

Finally, thread it through the toes.

When I perform surgery, I like to correct the relationship between the two and then put a track on it so that the "marital relationship" gets back on track.

What? After reading this, did you realize that you had cut your nails wrong before?

I hope everyone will trim their nails correctly in the future so that everyone will be healthy and beautiful!
