[Medical Q&A] How to properly handle and care for type 2 multiple nodules in bilateral breasts?

In daily life, many women will find "Bilateral Breast Nodules Category 2" [Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) Category 2] on their B-ultrasound reports during breast examinations. This means that multiple nodules are found in both breasts, and the size and shape of these nodules show certain characteristics under B-ultrasound. Being classified as Category 2 breast nodules usually means that they are benign. The boundaries of Category 2 nodules are relatively clear, the shape is relatively regular, and the internal signal is relatively uniform. Usually, there is no need to worry too much because most of them are benign.

Here are some treatment suggestions: Patients can have regular B-ultrasound reexaminations to monitor changes in nodules. For women over 40 years old, it is recommended to have a mammography examination every year or every 2 years. Especially when nodules are found by B-ultrasound, mammography can help further evaluate the health of the breast. If calcification foci are found by mammography, a professional doctor should be consulted and further examination or treatment should be carried out according to the doctor's advice. Early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment are the key to dealing with all health problems.
