Are you brushing your teeth correctly? Some people try to brush horizontally, while others prefer to brush vertically; some are used to using a traditional toothbrush, while others have already switched to an electric toothbrush. Today, an expert from the Department of Stomatology at Hunan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine will tell you the correct way to brush your teeth and take care of your dental and oral health. Care for your teeth and oral health 1. Hold the brush handle and place the brush head on the neck of the tooth, with the bristles at a 45° angle to the root of the tooth, and the bristles pointing at the root of the tooth at a 45° angle. Apply slight pressure so that part of the bristles enter the gingival sulcus and part of them are on the gingival margin. Two to three teeth. 2. Use 2-3 teeth as a group and vibrate the toothbrush horizontally for 4-6 times at a short distance (about 2mm). Avoid excessive movements and turning into horizontal brushing. 3. Next is the inner side of the teeth, using the same brushing method. 4. The pits and fissures on the occlusal surface can easily accumulate bacteria, so be sure to brush them carefully. This is when the advantage of the small brush head comes into play. Bass brushing method The Bass brushing method can effectively clean teeth and gingival sulcus and prevent plaque accumulation , so it is also recommended for adults. The Bass brushing method mainly cleans the area between teeth and gums, removes dental plaque, prevents the formation of tartar, and effectively prevents and treats periodontal disease. First brush the outer sides of the upper and lower teeth, tilt the toothbrush 45 degrees toward the root direction, place it on the edge of the gums, press lightly, and let the bristles enter the gingival sulcus; move the toothbrush back and forth in groups of 2-3 teeth, vibrating at least 10 times, and then move to the next group of 2-3 teeth; then brush the inner sides of the teeth, and repeat the above actions; when brushing the lingual and palatal sides of the front teeth, place the toothbrush vertically, and use moderate force to brush from the gums to the crowns, pointing to and entering the gingival sulcus; finally, brush the chewing surface, place the toothbrush on the chewing surface and move it back and forth. It is recommended to use a toothbrush with fine bristles, which is good for cleaning teeth and can reduce the damage to gums caused by improper brushing. The size of the toothbrush head is appropriate. For adults, the brush head is about 2 cm long and 1 cm wide. Replace the toothbrush every 3-6 months to prevent mold and bacteria from growing on the teeth.
