Why do nipples itch during ovulation?

Ladies, remember that if you have allergens, you must always pay attention, otherwise after contact with allergens, your skin will have allergies, which will of course directly affect your nipples. Because the nipples are more sensitive than other areas of the skin. What causes itchy nipples during ovulation?

1. Causes of breast pain and nipple itching in women

1. Excessive friction from underwear

The bra material is too hard or the size is inappropriate, which sometimes causes the material to be too firm and the bra to be too tight, causing the nipples to rub against the bra too much or the air permeability to be poor, which can easily cause nipple itching.

2. Nipple dermatitis

Irritating drugs can easily cause nipple skin allergies, or abrasions, injuries, scratches, or infections by bacteria and germs may cause nipple dermatitis, which in turn causes nipple itching.

3. Eczema

It is the most common cause of breast itching and can occur in people of all ages. People with a history of skin allergies or a family history of skin allergies are more likely to suffer from eczema. Environmental causes of eczema include dry skin, prolonged bathing, dyes and spices in skin care products, detergents, environmental allergens such as wool and foam, and stress. The diagnosis is usually based on routine physical examination and medical records. Most treatments are local, such as steroid creams. In addition, experts suggest that the patient's own medical care and safety protection are also very important for alleviating eczema. The most important thing is to prevent known causes of skin allergies. Keep skin naturally moisturized as much as possible. Try to avoid using soap and don't take long baths.

4. During ovulation

Because the level of estrogen and progesterone in the body increases before menstruation, and women suffer from more serious liver disease, which will cause the estrogen to not be completely absorbed, and then breast pain may occur around ovulation, accompanied by discomfort such as nipple itching.

5. Liver Qi Stagnation

From a medical point of view, nipples belong to the liver and breasts belong to the kidneys. Qi deficiency and blood stasis or both Qi and blood deficiency can cause itchy nipples and breast pain in women during or after menstruation.

6. Breast hyperplasia

Due to the increase in estrogen and progesterone levels, and the increased aldosterone secretion, the mammary ducts may enlarge, the squamous epithelial cells of the breast may proliferate and thicken, and the mammary surrounding matrix may edema, which may cause premenstrual breast pain or aggravate premenstrual pain. A small number of people may experience nipple itching, which may spontaneously subside or disappear after menstruation. This condition occurs for a long time and may be caused by breast hyperplasia.

7. Paget's disease

It is a rare breast cancer that causes hypopigmented spots on the nipple and papillae, which appear as a reticular pattern. It is the most worrying cause of itchy nipples. The initial symptoms are itching or burning of the nipples and nipples, accompanied by the appearance of dead skin. There was no improvement after medication. The affected area may also have yellowish or bloody secretions. This type of disease only affects one side, and patients are mostly between 50 and 60 years old. The diagnosis can be made based on clinical breast examination, patient medical history, mammogram and ultrasound.

8. Puberty issues

During puberty, women's breasts begin to grow rapidly. The nipples will naturally grow rapidly. At this time, we must pay attention to its local hygiene. Because rapid growth and development leads to increased secretions, which provides conditions for the growth of various bacteria. If you do not pay attention to personal hygiene and use poor quality shower gel, soap and bra fabrics, etc., it is likely to cause dryness and peeling, resulting in unbearable nipple itching, which is inevitable. It is recommended to clean the breasts and nipples every night with warm water and a neutral, high-quality soap.

9. Itchy nipples in late pregnancy

It's all normal part of pregnancy. As time goes by, the milk foam and nipples will continue to swell. You should rub them frequently with a hot towel to remove the white stuff. This is a very normal phenomenon.

2. What should I do if my nipples itch?

1. No need to scratch

The skin of the breast is very tender. If you feel itchy, do not scratch it hard. You can use soft objects (such as cotton towels, cotton wool) to delay the itching.

2. Use suitable underwear

Buy suitable bras according to the size of your breasts. You should choose soft, breathable cotton bras, and do not wear them for more than eight hours a day. Most women cannot do this due to long working hours, so they should try to wear comfortable, tight bras, and take off their bras before going to bed to prevent compression of the nipples and breasts, which may cause itching or swelling.

3. Clean your breasts properly

There is no need to use soap or shower gel frequently to clean the breasts. Just use warm water to clean them, and keep the breasts dry.

4. Carry out chest massage

It is better to give your breasts a "SPA". You can often massage your breasts before taking a bath or before going to bed. Use one hand (except the thumb and little finger) to press and drag in a circular spiral from the nipple in a clockwise direction, and then gradually move outward for three or four circles. This can promote blood circulation and prevent breast hyperplasia.
