Breast Health

The mammary gland is not only a part of the female body, but also plays an important role in feeding offspring. At the same time, the health of the mammary gland is closely related to the overall health and quality of life of women.

1. Common breast problems

1. Breast hyperplasia

Symptoms: Breast tenderness and lumps. The degree of pain and size of the lumps vary with the menstrual cycle.

Causes: endocrine disorders, mental stress, bad living habits, etc.

Response: Keep a good mood, maintain a regular schedule, eat healthily, and have regular breast examinations.

2. Mastitis

Symptoms: Breast redness, swelling, pain, fever, and in severe cases, abscesses may form.

Causes: milk stasis, bacterial infection, etc.

Response: Empty the milk promptly, keep the breasts clean, and seek medical treatment if symptoms are severe.

3. Breast fibroids

Symptoms: A round or oval lump can be felt in the breast, which is hard in texture, has clear boundaries and good mobility.

Cause: Not clear yet, may be related to endocrine disorders, genetics and other factors.

Response: Smaller fibroids can be observed regularly, while larger or rapidly growing fibroids require surgical removal.

4. Breast cancer

Symptoms: breast lumps, nipple discharge, skin changes (such as orange peel changes, dimple sign, etc.), enlarged axillary lymph nodes, etc.

Cause: Genetics, hormone levels, lifestyle and other factors work together.

Response: Conduct regular breast screening for early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment.

2. Maintenance of breast health

Breast self-examination is one of the effective means to prevent breast cancer. It is recommended that women perform breast self-examination once a month, preferably avoiding the menstrual period and choosing to perform it 3-7 days after the menstrual period is over. When self-examination, you can face the mirror and observe whether the breasts are symmetrical, whether there are any changes in the breast skin, whether the nipples on both sides are symmetrical, and whether there are any depressions. At the same time, massage the breasts with your hands to feel for lumps or nodules, and touch the armpits to check for enlarged lymph nodes. It should be noted that self-examination cannot replace professional medical examinations. It is recommended that women have a breast ultrasound examination once a year, and women over 40 years old can add a breast mammography examination. If any abnormal symptoms or suspected signs of breast cancer are found, you should seek medical attention in time and receive professional diagnosis and treatment. By combining breast self-examination with professional medical examinations, breast cancer can be prevented more effectively.

3. Healthy Lifestyle

Eat a balanced diet: Eat more nutritious foods such as vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, and reduce the intake of high-fat, high-calorie foods.

Moderate exercise: insist on at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week, such as brisk walking, jogging, etc.

Control your weight: Avoid obesity and maintain a healthy weight.

Quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption: reduce the impact of bad living habits on the breast.

Relieve stress: Keep a happy mood, learn to release stress, and avoid being in a state of tension and anxiety for a long time.

In short, paying attention to breast health, starting from daily life, regular check-ups, early detection and early treatment can better protect women's health.
