The wisdom tooth is inflamed again. Should I remove it or not?

Have you ever heard that removing wisdom teeth can make your face thinner? Have you ever wanted to have a drastic change by straightening your teeth and removing wisdom teeth?

But anyone who has experienced wisdom teeth growing knows that having a slimmer face is secondary. What is more important than anything else is to completely remove this devil of wisdom teeth that resides in the mouth.

However, some people say that wisdom teeth are the root of wisdom and removing them will make you stupid. So, should we remove wisdom teeth or not?

The Root of Wisdom

It is said that in ancient times, there was a king who ascended the throne as a teenager. When he was almost an adult, he found that his teeth had started to grow again. The pain was unbearable and he thought it was very strange. So he asked his ministers whether it was a good or bad omen. One minister hurried forward and flattered him, saying, "This is the sign of a wise man!"

At this point, the wisdom tooth theory has spread. In fact, wisdom teeth usually grow out after a person reaches adulthood, which is when a person's mind is relatively mature, hence the name "wisdom teeth".

It is of course unscientific to think that removing wisdom teeth will make you stupid. Wisdom teeth are formed due to the increased refinement of human food. Chewing such refined food reduces the stimulation to the jawbone, causing the jawbone to degenerate and become smaller, unable to provide enough space for the wisdom teeth to erupt. Therefore, wisdom teeth erupt later or simply never come out.

Therefore, in the process of "natural selection", wisdom teeth have become a living teaching aid of evolution.

The Sin of Wisdom Teeth

Crime 1: Not enough space for growth, but still determined to "stand out", causing chaos in the formation of brothers and sisters.

Crime 2: Most wisdom teeth do not stand straight or lie upright. After they erupt, they easily form gaps between the second molars, causing food to accumulate. At this time, tooth decay, pericoronitis, etc. are not far away from you.

Crime three: Completely disregarding the beauty of symmetry, letting the teeth grow one, two or four as they wish. As a result, there is often no corresponding wisdom tooth, leading to excessive eruption and affecting the normal bite of the teeth.

Crime 4: There is no regularity at all. It lasts for a long time at times and takes a break at times, which will inevitably cause you to suffer pain from time to time.

Wisdom teeth, to remove or not to remove

Pulling out wisdom teeth will not make you stupid, and from an anatomical and physiological point of view, pulling it out will not have the effect of slimming your face. In this case, should we endure the pain of pulling out wisdom teeth? Generally speaking, we will consider pulling it out by the roots only in the following circumstances.

1. Tooth decay. This is also known as tooth decay. Starting from the front teeth on one side, the eighth tooth is the wisdom tooth. Therefore, wisdom teeth are located very deep inside, and are usually difficult to clean, making them prone to tooth decay. If wisdom teeth are severely decayed, it is recommended to remove them.

2. Pericoronitis occurs. The eruption process of wisdom teeth is too much to describe - it always recurs and becomes inflamed, causing swelling and pain. In severe cases, you can't even open your mouth. This is the legendary pericoronitis of wisdom teeth. In order to avoid continuous pain, it is better to remove it early after the inflammation subsides.

3. It is difficult to clean and invades the "neighbors". Wisdom teeth are the third molars of human beings. Since there is not enough space for them to grow in our mouth, they often occupy the position of the adjacent teeth (that is, the second molars) and fall on them, making it difficult to clean. If they lie there for a long time, they may cause themselves and their "neighbors" to perish together. It is better to remove them as soon as possible.

4. No occlusal relationship is formed with the opposing teeth. For teeth to have an occlusal relationship, a CP combination needs to be formed. Although strictly speaking, we should have 4 wisdom teeth, wisdom teeth are more casual and can appear at any time. If its CP has not erupted or has been extracted, the single wisdom tooth has no opposing teeth to compete with it, and the wisdom tooth may over-erupt and elongate, affecting the bite. At this time, it should be extracted.

5. Orthodontic needs. When correcting teeth, in order to make the white teeth in a neat formation and ensure the orthodontic effect, it is usually considered to remove wisdom teeth or some less important teeth (such as the bicuspids behind the canines). Sometimes, the cause of the uneven teeth in the mouth may be that the wisdom teeth squeeze their growth space, and then they should be removed.

6. Cause other diseases. Impacted wisdom teeth may also cause odontogenic cysts or tumors. At this time, it is even more troublesome and needs to be removed.

When extracting wisdom teeth, you need to pay attention to these

1. First of all, be mentally prepared. After all, wisdom tooth extraction requires the pain of knocking teeth (actually knocking the head), and after extraction, there will be a period of swelling, so you must be mentally prepared and relax to eliminate your tension.

2. Girls should avoid doing it during menstruation. There will be bleeding during the tooth extraction process, so it is recommended to avoid doing it during menstruation.

3. Before tooth extraction, tell the doctor about your health condition, such as whether you have a history of high blood pressure or heart disease. The doctor may have some questions at this time, and you must answer them carefully to ensure that your health condition meets the indications for tooth extraction and avoid adverse consequences.

4. For a period of time after tooth extraction, you should not eat food that requires strenuous chewing to avoid damaging the wound surface during chewing and affecting healing.

5. Do not brush your teeth or rinse your mouth right after having a tooth extracted to avoid touching the wound and washing away the coagulated blood clots.

In addition to this, there will be some other more detailed precautions, just wait for everyone to walk into the dental clinic and listen to what the doctor says.
