It not only harms the regional ecological environment, but if you eat uncooked apple snails, you are very likely to get nematode disease.

A search on social media platforms revealed that traces of golden apple snails have been found in many places recently.

According to statistics, a golden apple snail may contain as few as 3,000 parasites and as many as 6,000.

Many golden apple snails contain parasites such as Angiostrongylus cantonensis. If they are not fully cooked, the parasites can easily enter the human body after being eaten and may damage nerve tissue. In severe cases, it can cause dementia or even death.

In addition, the golden apple snail has a strong reproductive capacity and can lay eggs 20 to 40 times a year, with an annual egg production of 30,000 to 50,000 eggs. It can spread rapidly, and its diet is varied. Once an outbreak occurs, it will destroy the surrounding ecosystem.

April to June and August to October are the peak periods for spawning and hatching of golden apple snails. Once discovered, they must be dealt with immediately to prevent them from multiplying and spreading on a large scale. Parents should strictly forbid their children to play by the river alone, and they should not be curious about the pink snail eggs and fiddle with them.

How to distinguish between river snails and golden apple snails?

Some people also said that the golden apple snail and the field snail are very similar, so how should we distinguish between the two?

Although the golden apple snail and the field snail look somewhat similar, there are still big differences if you look closely. The golden apple snail is much larger than the field snail, several times larger, and the tip of its tail is very short, making it appear rounder, and its shell is also thinner.

②The tail of the golden apple snail is relatively short and flat, and its shell is thin and brittle, while the tail of the field snail is longer and pointed, and its shell is hard.
