Do you know? These bad habits are quietly "damaging the kidneys"

Although the kidneys are hardworking and will not leave the front line even if they are slightly injured, they are actually very fragile. They are afraid of fatigue, salt, lack of water, high protein, and are very sensitive to hypoxia, ischemia, infection, drugs and poisons. If such damage continues for a period of time, it will cause irreversible damage to the kidney unit. So, what kidney-damaging behaviors should be avoided in life to prevent the occurrence of kidney disease?

1. Long-term urine retention and insufficient water intake

Many friends often have no time to drink water due to busy work, and have the habit of holding urine for a long time. Insufficient water intake will lead to reduced urine volume, which is easy to cause kidney stones and increase the probability of urinary tract infection. Holding urine for a long time can easily lead to bladder pressure disorder, decreased detrusor function, or affect the ureter-bladder anti-reflux mechanism, causing urine reflux, causing bacteria in the urine to retrograde to the renal pelvis, causing inflammation, and ultimately causing renal parenchymal damage. Therefore, no matter how busy you are at work, you must not forget to drink more water and go to the toilet on time.

2. Heavy taste, high salt and high protein diet

Modern people love seafood barbecue, crayfish, and hot pot with high salt and oil. Unknowingly, they may have overloaded their kidneys. Obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, high uric acid, etc. caused by a high-oil, high-salt, high-sugar, and high-purine diet are closely related to the onset of kidney disease. Protein is an essential nutrient for the human body. It is important to pay attention to protein intake, but the more the better. Long-term high-protein diet will cause the kidneys to be in a state of "overload" for a long time. Over time, the kidneys will find it difficult to bear. For people who already have kidney damage, protein intake needs to be controlled, and be sure to consult a specialist. Blind supplementation of health products such as protein powder is also not recommended.

3. Blindly taking medicine and trusting folk remedies

Drugs can both cure diseases and cause them. Both Chinese and Western medicines can damage the kidneys. Chinese medicines such as Aristolochia, Astragalus, Aristolochia Root, Atractylodes Macrocephala, and Stephania Tetrandra have certain nephrotoxicity and require special attention. When using aminoglycoside antibiotics (such as gentamicin, streptomycin, etc.) and antipyretic and analgesic drugs (such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, etc.) in Western medicine, attention should also be paid to renal toxicity. Whether it is Chinese or Western medicine, it should be used under the guidance of a doctor in a regular hospital. Do not blindly take the medicine on your own, or listen to some rumors and use "folk remedies" or "secret recipes" with unknown ingredients or that do not meet drug specifications.
