Parents, please pay attention! How to deal with your child's sudden fever?

Spring is the season when various infectious diseases are prevalent. A large number of students gather on campus and the population is highly mobile, which easily creates conditions for the spread of pathogens and causes colds, fevers and other discomforts.

Because children's immune systems are not yet mature, they tend to have fever more easily than adults. When children have a fever, their body temperature is often higher, and it is not as easy for them to control the degree of temperature drop as it is for adults.

What should parents do if their child has a fever?

According to the body temperature range, it is generally divided into 4 levels:

01

Low fever: 37.3~38℃

If the child's temperature is below 38℃, don't rush to give him antipyretics. First, this temperature will not cause too much harm to the child's body. Second, taking antipyretics before a clear diagnosis may mask the condition and interfere with the diagnosis.

At this time, drinking more water and getting more rest are the most important. Observe the child's spirit, diet, tongue coating, and bowel movements, control the amount of food, and limit the intake of high-calorie and high-protein foods.

You can use physical cooling methods, such as applying a wet cloth to your head or using a cooling patch.

02

Moderate heat: 38.1-39°C

However, if the body temperature continues to be above 38.5℃ and there is no sign of falling back, you should start to closely observe changes in the condition and use antipyretic drugs suitable for children.

Note that antipyretic drugs should not be given to children at half the adult dose or at other ratios. Always follow the instructions or doctor's advice before taking the drugs. It is best to always have children's antipyretic drugs of the corresponding age at home for quick use.

03

High fever: 39.1-41°C

Seek medical attention promptly, identify the cause, and provide symptomatic treatment.

04

Hyperthermia: 41°C or above

See a doctor as soon as possible and have medical staff closely monitor changes in your condition to prevent dehydration or convulsions.

Recently, disease control departments in many places have issued health reminders, calling on the general public, teachers and students in schools to take good health protection. To prevent spring respiratory infectious diseases, pay attention to the following 6 points.
