Is it necessary to get the HPV vaccine?

At present, people have a very strong reaction to the HPV vaccine. Everyone is discussing it and has different opinions. Some people are very sensitive to this vaccine, especially those who have gynecological diseases. However, they have great confusion about whether these people should get the vaccine, worrying that it will have a certain impact on their bodies. So, is it necessary to get the HPV vaccine?

Is it necessary to get the HPV vaccine?

1. The efficacy of HPV vaccine. The Chinese name of HPV is human papillomavirus infection. It is mainly transmitted through sexual behavior. During sexual intercourse or oral sex, it can enter the genitals, mouth or throat, thereby causing infection. Currently, about 170 types of HPV have been identified, of which about 30 to 40 can infect the genitals and nearby skin through sexual intercourse.

2. Some types of HPV can cause genital warts, and some types of HPV are related to cell cancer. Many people have long known that HPV infection can cause cervical cancer. In fact, this virus infection can also cause other relatively rare cancers, such as vulvar cancer, penile cancer, laryngeal cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer and anal cancer.

Does the HPV vaccine provide lifelong immunity?

1. HPV vaccine: Studies have shown that the HPV vaccine still has protective effects 4 to 5 years after vaccination [9, 10]. However, compared with other vaccines, this vaccine has been on the market for a shorter time, only 8 years. Its long-term effectiveness still needs long-term observation and further scientific research to determine.

2. It should be noted that even women who have received the HPV vaccine cannot prevent all types of HPV that cause cervical cancer. Therefore, married or conjugal women should also perform regular cervical acid-fast staining tests to detect cervical cancer and precancerous lesions as soon as possible.

The HPV vaccine is still very influential in terms of response, but it does not necessarily mean that people who have been vaccinated are less likely to develop the disease. Compared with other vaccines, the HPV vaccine has been on the market for a relatively short time and is slightly more expensive, so people's acceptance of it remains to be seen. The greatest economic benefit of the vaccine is that it can cure diseases and gain people's trust.
