Recently, according to multiple media reports, veteran agent Guan Weihua died of illness on May 7 at the age of 73.

Guan Weihua has been in the entertainment industry for more than 50 years and has helped many famous singers and actors become famous. He was the only agent of Teresa Teng before she went to Japan to develop her career. Chow Yun-fat, Andy Lau, Sun Nan and others have all worked with Guan Weihua.

According to Guan Weihua's wife, Guan Weihua fell at home last month and was unfortunately diagnosed with lymphoma during hospitalization. His family originally wanted to arrange treatment for him, but he believed that birth, aging, sickness and death were inevitable processes and was unwilling to accept treatment.

His health subsequently deteriorated, and he eventually passed away just one month after being diagnosed with cancer, though fortunately he died peacefully. [1]

Lymphoma is one of the most common malignant tumors and one of the tumors with a higher incidence in recent years. The current incidence rate in my country is about 6.68/100,000, with approximately 100,000 new lymphoma patients each year[2].

More and more people know that lymph nodes are distributed throughout the body, so they are always frightened when they hear the word "lymphoma", a malignant blood tumor.

"Clinically, many patients are found to have deep lymph node enlargement in the abdomen, around blood vessels, and in the pelvis during physical examinations, and lymphoma is highly suspected at this time."

Liang Aibin, deputy director of Shanghai Tongji Hospital and chairman of the Hematology Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, reminded in an interview with Shangguan News in April 2023 that everyone should pay special attention to three common symptoms: low-grade fever, weight loss, and night sweats.

“If you have unexplained long-term fever or weight loss, you should be aware of whether it is a tumor. Compared with other tumors, lymphoma has a more special symptom, namely night sweats ,” Liang Aibin said. [3]

Lymph nodes are the body’s “alarm”, so be careful if such abnormalities occur!

Lymph nodes are the "alarm devices" of many diseases.

If your lymph nodes are swollen, it means there may be something wrong with your body!

When the body is invaded by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis infection, and parasites, the lymph nodes will fully exert their immune capabilities to fight against the microorganisms, resulting in a certain degree of lymph node enlargement.

Wang Liang, chief physician of the Department of Hematology at Beijing Tongren Hospital, published an article in Health Times in 2021, saying that under normal circumstances, the superficial lymph nodes in the human body are very small, with a diameter of about 0.5 cm, a smooth surface, no tenderness, and no adhesion to surrounding tissues.

When the diameter of the axillary lymph nodes exceeds 1 cm and the diameter of the inguinal lymph nodes exceeds 1.5 cm, it indicates lymphadenopathy.

Everyone should pay special attention: if your lymph nodes are swollen but not painful, this is not a trivial matter!

Wang Liang, chief physician of the Department of Hematology at Beijing Tongren Hospital, published an article in Health Times in 2021 to remind people that if lymph nodes are swollen, it means that there may be something wrong with the body. [4]

Finally, it is important to note that this article does not encourage you to self-diagnose , because this requires a professional doctor to consider the medical history, clinical symptoms, auxiliary examinations, etc. However, you can pay attention in your life. If you feel suspicious lumps in the places mentioned in the previous article, it is recommended to see a doctor in time, just in case.
