Is breast cancer hereditary?

Is breast cancer hereditary?

Many diseases in life are hereditary, such as AIDS. Or some diseases have a great impact on people's bodies. Tumor is a common cell mutation or mass mutation phenomenon that occurs in people's body structure. Sometimes some tumors will turn into cancer, posing a great threat to people's lives. Breast tumor is a relatively dangerous tumor in women's body. In severe cases, breast cancer may occur. Because it causes great harm to women's bodies, people who are prone to breast cancer worry that it is hereditary and will affect their offspring.

Causes of Breast Cancer

Genetic causes

Generally speaking, if a woman's mother has breast cancer, the woman's chance of developing the disease is greater than that of an ordinary person, and the onset of the disease may also be earlier than that of people who are not second-generation cancer patients. If a woman has a close sister who has breast cancer, it has a similar impact on her, but it is smaller than the former. However, breast cancer is not directly inherited through cancer genes. Just because a mother or sister is sick does not mean that the woman will also get the disease.

Menarche and menopause

According to doctors' experience, early menarche and late menopause are common in breast cancer patients. Women who start menstruating before age 12 and those who reach menopause after age 55 are more likely to have the disease. If you have similar symptoms, ladies need to take more precautions.

Late marriage, late childbearing, and less breastfeeding

According to epidemiological statistics, late marriage, late childbearing and less breastfeeding are unfavorable factors for women, but it is not yet certain whether they can become a real high-risk factor for breast cancer. This does not mean that women should marry and have children early, but that women should let nature take its course and have children naturally when they reach the age that meets the requirements of family planning.

After a woman gives birth, her breasts will grow. If she does not breastfeed, it will be detrimental to the health of the child and the natural cycle of the woman. Breastfeeding may help reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Exogenous estrogen

Long-term use of oral contraceptives increases the risk of breast cancer by 15%-25%. Hormone replacement therapy is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer and can increase the risk of invasive breast cancer by 26%.

Reproductive factors

Reproductive factors mainly include menstruation, fertility status and breastfeeding. Young age of menarche is an important risk factor for breast cancer. Being unmarried, childless and giving birth at age over 35 are also risk factors for breast cancer. Breastfeeding is also related to the occurrence of breast cancer. Breastfeeding can reduce the risk of breast cancer.

The dangers of breast cancer

The female breast is mainly composed of skin and fibrous tissue, mammary glands and fat. Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the mammary gland epithelial tissue.

The mammary gland is not an important organ for maintaining human life activities and breast cancer is not fatal. However, because breast cancer cells lose the characteristics of normal cells, the connections between cells become loose and they can easily fall off.

Once the cancer cells fall off, the free cancer cells can spread throughout the body through the blood or lymph fluid, and may also metastasize and endanger life. Currently, breast cancer has become an important tumor that threatens the physical and mental health of women.
