If after a spinal cord injury you experience symptoms such as heaviness, sallow complexion, loss of appetite, fatigue, oily hair, and excessive drooling, then you should be careful, as this may be what Chinese medicine calls excessive dampness in the body.

Traditional Chinese medicine teaches you how to judge whether you have dampness or not?

Symptoms: heavy head and body, sore and painful muscles on rainy days, poor appetite, sweet saliva, greasy face and head, chest feeling of being unable to breathe out, laziness and sleepiness, nausea when brushing teeth...

Second, look at the stool: the stool is unformed, there is a feeling of incomplete bowel movement, sometimes it is watery, sticks to the toilet bowl, and is bluish in color.

Third, look at the tongue coating: When you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror to see if your tongue is fat and if the tongue coating is thick and white.

What causes heavy moisture?

1. Not getting enough sleep

From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, insufficient spleen and stomach function will lead to increased dampness, insufficient sleep will lead to decreased spleen and stomach function, and a series of symptoms of heavy dampness will appear. A good night's sleep can make the body light. It is recommended to go to bed before 11 o'clock every night, so that our spleen and stomach have enough time to rest, and the dampness will be reduced.

2. Love to eat cold food

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that raw and cold foods, cold fruits, cold drinks, etc. will reduce the function of the spleen and stomach, causing digestion and absorption to stagnate, and a large amount of moisture will be generated and remain in the body.

3. Poor environment

Living in a damp, cold place for a long time makes the human body susceptible to infection by water and dampness, leading to disease.

When we select acupoints such as Pishu, Dazhui, Guanyuanshu, Qihaishu, and Chengshan, we can expel moisture from the human body and achieve the effect of strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that massaging Zusanli can regulate the body's immunity, enhance disease resistance, regulate the spleen and stomach, replenish qi, dredge meridians and activate collaterals, dispel wind and dampness, and strengthen the body and eliminate evil.

2. Yinlingquan: Located on the inner side of the calf, in the depression between the lower inner edge of the tibia and the inner edge of the tibia.

It is mainly used to treat abdominal distension, diarrhea, edema, and jaundice. Massage the Yinlingquan point for 10 minutes every day to remove spleen dampness.
