How to remedy the body aches during confinement?

The confinement period is very painful for mothers, especially in cold seasons when they can hardly leave the house. Moreover, during the confinement period, the mother's body is likely to experience some adverse symptoms. For example, some women consume too much energy during childbirth and exert too much force, which may cause unbearable pain all over the body. So, what methods can be used to alleviate this situation?

Exercise therapy

1. Exercise of leg muscles. Lie flat on your back, lift your right leg as high as possible, straighten your toes without bending them, then slowly lower your leg. This movement requires complete abdominal muscle strength; do not use force with your hands. Raise your left leg in the same way, with both legs raised together, and slowly increase the height.

2. Vaginal contraction exercise. Lie flat on your back with your legs slightly spread out. Push your heels back and lift your hips off the ground. Support your whole body with your heels and shoulders. Keep your knees together and tighten your abdominal muscles.

3. Knee-chest position. Lie face down on the bed with your knees slightly bent, your hips raised, your chest lightly pressed against the bed, and your legs shoulder-width apart. Maintain the position for 2 to 5 minutes, once before getting up and before going to bed.

4. Sit-ups. Without a pillow, lie on your back with your hands on your chest, and lift your head and shoulders up to just above the bed.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

20 grams of ginger, 2 to 3 scallions, and appropriate amount of brown sugar. First, fry the ginger and scallion for about 15 minutes, then add brown sugar and drink it while hot, twice a day. Or use 1 hen and 30 grams of mulberry branches, stew them together, eat the chicken and drink the soup. It is used for patients with exogenous wind-cold (pain in joints all over the body, difficulty in flexion and extension, or pain in no fixed location, or fear of cold, or swollen limbs, which are relieved by heat, pale tongue with white coating, and floating and slow pulse).

1. Hold the Jianjing point, pinch and rub the Shousanli and Waiguan points; use arm massage, tapping and scratching, back pushing and kneading, and leg kneading. Suitable for people with blood deficiency.

2. Rub Fengchi, pinch and rub Chize, Quchi, Hegu, Yinchi, pinch Shuigou, move Guanyuan and Fengshi with the arm, pinch and rub Dubi, rub Shenzhu and Shenshu; use arm massage, arm twisting and rubbing, back pushing and kneading, collateral pulling and tapping, leg movement and kneading, and leg rubbing and massaging. Suitable for those with exogenous infection.

Friendly reminder: If the body aches are caused by exogenous wind and cold, new mothers should eat more spicy and warm foods that can dispel cold, such as ginger, scallion, brown sugar, and some easily digestible fish and meat, and should avoid eating raw and cold foods.
