A woman's eardrum was perforated by a wave while surfing in Sanya. Extreme sports should pay attention to safety

Science Fiction Network reported on January 5 (Xu Mingyang) According to Shanhai Video, on January 3, Ms. Wang from Shenzhen, Guangdong, went to the hospital for treatment because of obvious ear pain and hearing loss. After examination, it was found that the right eardrum was perforated due to external force. According to Ms. Wang, she went to Sanya for New Year's Eve on December 30 last year. When surfing, she was hit by the waves on her right ear and felt a little pain at the time. The doctor said that she was lucky that the injury was not serious and there was no inflammation. It will heal in two weeks. If the eardrum is perforated in the sea and a lot of seawater enters, it is easy to get inflamed. If it is inflamed, surgery must be performed.

The eardrum is an oval, translucent membrane located at the junction of the middle ear tympanic cavity and the external auditory canal. Tympanic membrane perforation is usually caused by inflammation or trauma. Suppurative otitis media, ear picking, pressure injury, etc. may lead to eardrum perforation. Patients with eardrum perforation will experience symptoms such as tinnitus, ear pain, stuffy ears, and hearing loss.

Surfing is an extreme sport. It has two sources, Australia and Hawaii, and has a history of more than 500 years. Surfing is one of the five new events in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and this is the first time that surfing has appeared in the Olympics.

Surfing usually requires the use of surfboards. There are many types of surfboards, including longboards, shortboards, snatch boards, soft boards and raft boards. Different surfboards have different sizes and are suitable for different groups of people. Beginners should choose a suitable surfboard.

Before surfing, you should do a good job of sun protection and warm-up exercises; when entering the sea with a surfboard, the angle of your hands holding the surfboard should be perpendicular to the ground, and do not put the board in front of your body to avoid waves hitting the board and hitting your body; beginner surfers should strengthen hand paddling training, physical training, foot training, and forward roll and breath holding training in the water; when surfing, you should keep a safe distance from other surfers to avoid collisions or other accidents.
