China Academy of Information and Communications Technology: Domestic Mobile Phone Market Operation Analysis Report in February 2025

From January to February 2025, the domestic mobile phone shipments reached 46.905 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%. Among them, 5G mobile phones reached 41.619 million units, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%, accounting for 88.7% of the mobile phone shipments in the same period.

From January to February 2025, 49 new mobile phone models were launched in China, a year-on-year decrease of 9.3%. Among them, there were 30 5G mobile phones, which was the same as the same period last year, accounting for 61.2% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

From January to February 2025, domestic brand mobile phone shipments reached 39.869 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%, accounting for 85.0% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; domestic brands launched 48 new models, a year-on-year decrease of 2.0%, accounting for 98.0% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.

From January to February 2025, the shipment volume of smartphones was 4,311.2 units, a year-on-year decrease of 1.0%, accounting for 91.9% of the total mobile phone shipments in the same period; 36 new smartphone models were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 10.0%, accounting for 73.5% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period.
