Counterpoint: The average price of global mobile phones in Q2 2024 will hit a new high of 2,321 yuan

According to the latest global smartphone research report for the second quarter of 2024 released by market research firm Counterpoint Research, the average selling price of smartphones worldwide has reached US$325 (approximately RMB 2,321) per unit .

Despite the 618 Shopping Festival and Apple's drastic price cuts, the figure of US$325 per unit still increased by US$1 per unit year-on-year, which also means that the global smartphone market has gradually emerged from the predicament of falling both volume and price .

The report pointed out that global smartphone shipments reached 289.1 million units in Q2 2024, an increase of 8% year-on-year, indicating that the market is recovering steadily.

In terms of market share in different price segments, the market share of the price segment below US$100 was 16%, down 1 percentage point year-on-year; the market share of the price segment between US$100 and US$399 was 55%, also down 1 percentage point; the market share of the price segment between US$400 and US$799 remained at 14%; and the market share of the high-end price segment above US$800 increased by 2 percentage points year-on-year to 15%.
