Ampere: According to the latest data from Ampere, TikTok has the fastest user growth, especially those over 35 years old, and its core user group is no longer young people. Nearly a quarter of TikTok users (22%) are aged between 35 and 44, up from 17% last year. Similarly, 14% of users are aged between 45 and 54, up from 9% last year. Growth in older audiences is likely to continue as TikTok works with different content providers, such as European football associations and UEFA. However, young audiences remain the largest user group, with one-third of users (32%) being between 18 and 24 years old. WARC’s latest analysis shows that TikTok is the social winner of 2020, with 44% of brands expecting to increase investment this year, compared to only 39% who will increase their Facebook budgets. The app’s close relationship with pop culture has proven particularly appealing, and B2B brands are also finding success through TikTok’s creativity. Statista estimates that TikTok's U.S. user base grew 85.3% in 2020 over the previous year.
