Camia: Top 100 Apps & Games Downloads in Q1 in Indonesia

This issue of CAMIA collected the data of the top 300 apps and games in Indonesia GP in the first quarter of 2018 on March 31, and summarized the TOP100 download list, as follows:

Part 1

--application

The top 5 application categories are tools, video playback and editing, communications, photography & shopping, and social networking, accounting for 13%, 12%, 11%, 9%, 9% and 8% of the list respectively.

Most of these apps were launched in the market before 2017, and only 7% were launched after 2017. Among these 7%, there are 4 video playback and editing apps, including Vigo Video, the international version of Huoshan Video, and Tik Tok, the overseas version of Douyin.

Chinese gamers’ apps account for 31% of the TOP 100 downloads, and nearly half of them are in the TOP 50. In the tool category, which accounts for the largest proportion, more than half of the apps are from Chinese publishers, including the transfer tool SHAREit, WiFi Master Key, and GOMO’s input method GO Keyboard.

Among the 12 video playback and editing applications that ranked second, half are products owned by Chinese players, and among these 6 applications, 5 are international versions of major domestic short video applications: Tik Tok, VivaVideo, Vigo Video, Kwai Go and VideoShow.

The four input methods on the list are all products of Chinese players: Cheetah Keyboard from Cheetah Mobile, Typany Keyboard from Sohu, GO Keyboard from GOMO and Kika Keyboard from Kika Technology.

Part 2

--game

The top five categories of games in the top 100 game downloads list are action, casual, sports, racing and arcade games, of which action accounts for 20%, casual accounts for 16%, and the other three categories account for 11% each.

Among them, games owned by Chinese game publishers account for 15%. Among the action games that account for the largest proportion, games owned by Chinese players account for more than 1/4. Among the top five most downloaded action games, 3 games are owned by Chinese players, including the overseas version of Honor of Kings "Mobile Legends: Bang Bang" launched in the market in the second half of 2016 and Tencent's chicken-eating mobile game "Wild Action" "PUBG MOBILE" launched in March 2018.

There are nine Chinese games in the top 50 of the list. In addition to the two mentioned above, there are also the international version of NetEase's chicken-eating mobile game "RULES OF SURVIVAL", IGG's melee game "BarbarQ", Cheetah Mobile's "Piano Tiles 2™", and so on.
