appendix:

1. Prediabetes refers to a state where blood sugar levels exceed normal standards but do not meet the diagnostic criteria for diabetes. If people with prediabetes do not change their lifestyle, it is likely that they will be diagnosed with diabetes in the future. If you feel tired, sleepy, hungry, have abnormal drinking and urination for a long time, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for testing, especially if there is a diabetic in your family.

2. Healthy people should test their fasting blood sugar once a year starting at the age of 40, while people with prediabetes should test their fasting blood sugar, blood sugar 2 hours after meals, and glycosylated hemoglobin regularly.

3. Diabetes includes type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, etc. Among the diabetic population in my country, the number of type 2 patients is close to 90%, and type 1 accounts for about 5%.

People who have any of the following factors are at high risk of diabetes:

Age ≥ 40 years

Overweight and obesity

·hypertension

Dyslipidemia

Sedentary lifestyle

Family history of diabetes

History of gestational diabetes

· History of birth of a macrosomic baby (birth weight ≥ 4 kg)

4. You can eat "sugar-free food", but you can't eat too much. Sugar-free food means that it does not contain sucrose or glucose, but it contains a lot of starch. After entering the body, it is gradually broken down into glucose. If you eat too much, your blood sugar will also rise. In addition, diabetes has no direct relationship with eating sugar. If the pancreas is dysfunctional or the insulin action is abnormal, you may also develop diabetes even if you eat less or even no sugar.

5. The probability of obese people suffering from type 2 diabetes is significantly increased, but it does not mean that only obese people will suffer from diabetes. Children whose parents have diabetes are at high risk of developing diabetes. However, in the pathogenesis of most diabetes, the main factor that plays a decisive role is the acquired environmental factors. An unhealthy lifestyle is the culprit for the disease.

6. Sugar is the most primitive source of happiness for human beings. May we be able to enjoy eating sugar anytime throughout our lives.
