In June 2012, iOS's global market share increased to 65%, continuing to lead the market

The latest data from research firm Net Applications on July 2, 2012 showed that Apple's iOS global market share increased to 65.3% in June this year, continuing to lead the market.

Net Applications data shows that iOS ranked first with a global market share of 65.3% in June this year, up from 52.4% in the same period last year. Android followed closely with a global market share of 19.7%, up from 14.3% in the same period last year.

Java ME, which is built into feature phones, ranked third with a market share of 10.2%. In addition, RIM's BlackBerry OS accounted for 1.9%, Nokia's Symbian OS accounted for 1.5%, and Windows Phone and Windows Mobile accounted for less than 3/4 of the market share.

By device, iPad has a market share of 36.7%, ranking first. The second is iPhone, with a market share of 26.8%. Devices based on Android 2.3 ranked third.
