According to an investor note released by Michael Walkley, an analyst at Canadian investment bank Canaccord Genuity, despite growing anticipation for Apple's upcoming iPhone 5, iPhone 4 sales are strong and remain the top-selling smartphone through AT&T and Verizon. The study found that the iPhone 4 was the best-selling phone on AT&T and Verizon in August. The entry-level iPhone 3GS, which costs $50, ranked second on AT&T, which does not offer it. The Samsung Infuse 4G, which costs $200, ranked third on AT&T, while the Samsung Charge 4G ranked second and the HTC Thunderbolt 4G ranked third on Verizon. Walkley said that in 2010, although Motorola Mobility and RIM performed stronger in retail trends, research showed that retail trends clearly favored Apple, HTC and Samsung, with their shares increasing. |
