Under the guidance of a doctor, citizens can improve their body's immunity and prevent COVID-19 through comprehensive intervention using traditional Chinese medicine and non-drug therapies.

◆ Prevention plan for people in centralized isolation

(I) Recommended prescription for prevention: Shenshu San plus or minus

Ingredients of the prescription: 9 grams of Atractylodes lancea, 10 grams of Patchouli, 12 grams of Magnolia officinalis flower, 9 grams of Tangerine peel, 6 grams of Amomum villosum, 6 grams of Phragmites australis, and 6 grams of roasted Licorice root.

Dosage: 1 serving per day, decoct in water. Take warm once in the morning and evening (about 1 hour after meal), 200 ml each time, for 5 consecutive days.

Note: Use with caution during pregnancy.

(II) Recommended prescription 2 for prevention: Qingfei Paidu Decoction

Ingredients of the prescription: 9 grams of ephedra, 6 grams of roasted licorice, 9 grams of apricot kernel, 15-30 grams of gypsum (fried first), 9 grams of cinnamon twig, 9 grams of Alisma orientalis, 9 grams of Poria, 9 grams of Atractylodes macrocephala, 15 grams of Poria, 16 grams of Bupleurum, 6 grams of Scutellaria baicalensis, 9 grams of Pinellia ternata, 9 grams of ginger, 9 grams of Aster tataricus, 9 grams of Winter Bloom, 9 grams of Belamcanda chinensis, 6 grams of Asarum, 12 grams of yam, 6 grams of Citrus aurantium, 6 grams of Tangerine peel, and 9 grams of Patchouli.

Dosage: Traditional Chinese medicine slices, use half the amount of each slice, decoct in water. Take once a day, once in the morning and once in the evening (about 40 minutes after meals), take warm, for 3 consecutive days. If conditions permit, take half a bowl of rice soup after each dose.

3. Recommended prescription for prevention

Ingredients of the prescription: 10 grams of Forsythia suspensa, 15 grams of Reed root, 15 grams of Polygonum cuspidatum, 6 grams of stir-fried burdock seeds, 6 grams of mulberry leaves, 10 grams of Schizonepeta tenuifolia, and 6 grams of raw licorice.

2. Prevention No. 2

Indications: Heat and toxicity in the lungs, people with symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat accompanied by headache, nasal congestion, runny nose, etc.

Function: Clears away heat, detoxifies, eliminates dampness and removes turbidity.

Dosage: 1 serving per day, decocted in water. Take twice a day, morning and evening, about 1 hour after meals, 200 ml each time, for 4 consecutive days.

(II) Prevention plan of TCM external treatment

1. Acupuncture

Acupoints: Fengchi and Fengfu.

Operation method: The patient lies prone and acupuncture is performed on both sides of the Fengchi and Fengfu points with a 1-inch filiform needle. After the qi is obtained, the needles are retained for 10 minutes.

2. Moxibustion therapy

Acupoints: Fengchi, Dazhui, Hegu.

Acupoints to be combined: For wind-cold, add Fengmen and Waiguan; for wind-heat, add Quchi; for dampness, add Yinlingquan; for nasal congestion, add Yingxiang; for cough, add Chize and Lieque; for sore throat, add Shaoshang; for body pain, add Dazhui; for headache, add Yintang and Taiyang; for weak patients with exogenous infection, add Gaohuangyu and Feishu.

Operation method: Choose 2~3 acupoints each time. For wind-cold, use ginger moxibustion, 4 times per acupoint, once a day. For wind-heat, use gentle moxibustion, 10 minutes per acupoint.

3. Cupping therapy

Acupoints: Dazhui and Fengmen.

How to use: Apply a layer of scraping oil or oily lotion on the acupuncture points, use the principle of negative pressure suction, hold the cup, and push the cup up, down, left, and right on the area to be cupped until the skin becomes congested and flushed.

4. Acupoint massage

Acupoints: Hegu, Dazhui, Fengmen, Feishu, Fengchi, Yingxiang, Waiguan.

Operation method: Select 2 to 3 acupoints each time, and press and rub the acupoints with your thumb or index finger, persistently and forcefully, until you feel a sore and swollen feeling, at a frequency of 60 to 80 times per minute, twice a day.
