A guide to self-help for rhinitis, giving you a deeper understanding of the enemy of rhinitis

Nasal congestion, nasal itching, sneezing, runny nose... Once rhinitis strikes, we are completely defeated. However, many people do not know how to resist the sudden attack of rhinitis, and can only endure the pain quietly and wait for the situation to ease. Today, let's take a deeper look at this "enemy" of rhinitis.

First of all, we need to know the differences between various types of rhinitis:

  1. The main symptoms of allergies are repeated sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion and nasal itching.
  2. Acute symptoms may include nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, dry and uncomfortable nose, loss of sense of smell, and even headache.
  3. The main manifestations of atrophy are nasal congestion, nose bleeding, nasal dryness and discomfort, decreased sense of smell, and possible bad odor in exhaled breath.
  4. Chronic symptoms include frequent nasal congestion, difficulty in falling asleep due to poor breathing, and runny noses in some people, which are sometimes thicker and even contain purulent secretions.

In order to reduce the occurrence of rhinitis, what precautions should be taken?

  1. Avoid catching a cold. Once you catch a cold, it is easy to cause acute rhinitis or relapse of chronic rhinitis. Colds themselves have symptoms of acute rhinitis, including runny nose, nasal congestion, and decreased sense of smell. Pay attention to adding or removing clothes to prevent colds.
  2. Avoid factors that reduce resistance, such as excessive fatigue, lack of sleep, cold, smoking, drinking, etc., because these factors can reduce the body's resistance, causing the defense function of the nasal mucosa to weaken, giving the virus an opportunity to take advantage.
  3. In autumn and winter or during cold epidemics, wear a mask when going out, try to avoid going to public places, and disinfect the air indoors regularly.
  4. The environment also has a great impact on whether rhinitis occurs. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the environment at home, such as avoiding contact with dust, dust mites, dog hair, cat hair, pollen, etc. If you really need to contact them, remember to wear a mask, take precautions, and avoid direct contact.

5. If you find any symptoms suspected of rhinitis, seek medical attention immediately to nip the rhinitis in the bud as soon as possible.

In addition to paying attention to daily life, rhinitis also needs to avoid certain foods:

1. Avoid eating foods that can easily cause inflammation

For example, chocolate, French fries, mango, apricot, durian, plum, longan, lychee, jujube, chili, brown sugar, peanuts, etc.

2. Avoid eating irritating foods

Such as coffee, wine, gravy, chili, mustard, pepper, etc. These will stimulate the secretion of gastric juice or damage the gastric mucosa, so try to avoid eating them.

3. Avoid eating highly processed foods

For example, biscuits and potato chips containing chemical additives contain chemical substances that are all allergenic and eating too much can easily aggravate allergic reactions.

8. Avoid eating raw or cold food

For example, ice cream, sashimi, etc., are cold foods, which will damage the spleen, lung and kidney qi, aggravate the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, and cause rhinitis to worsen.

6. Do not eat seafood

For example, crabs, shrimps, and scallops contain allergens that can trigger rhinitis, so try not to eat them.

Everyone has their own unique response to food, so the food intake should be adjusted appropriately according to individual differences, and there is no need to fast completely.

In addition to symptomatic treatment of rhinitis, better results can be achieved by adjusting and paying attention to lifestyle.
