Many of my myopic friends All choose to use surgery to correct myopia So is everything fine after myopia surgery? How to take care of it? What are the precautions? What can be done and what can’t be done? With the Vice President of Zhengzhou Aier Eye Hospital, You Changtao, Director of the Refractive Center Let’s find out together! Protection: Sunglasses + eye shield + goggles, how to wear them? 1. Wear polarized glasses when going out (recommended within one month after surgery). Special polarized glasses can eliminate virtual images, reduce postoperative photophobia, effectively protect the eyes, and reduce the damage of ultraviolet rays to the eyes. Please pay attention to choosing high-quality, safe, and suitable polarized glasses for your needs. 2. Wear goggles indoors (at your own discretion) to protect your eyes from accidental collisions. 3. Wear an eye mask when going to sleep at night (1 week) to prevent rubbing your eyes in your sleep. 1. You can use your eyes normally the next day after the operation. 2. One week to one month after surgery is a critical period for vision problems. It is recommended to watch less TV, computers and mobile phones, avoid excessive eye use and stay up late. (Suggestion: Do not turn off the lights to watch mobile phones, and take a 5-10 minute break after working on the phone or computer for 40 minutes.) Life 1. Wash your face, hair and bath normally: It is recommended not to use facial cleanser within one month to avoid dirty water and irritating foams such as facial cleanser and shampoo from entering your eyes. If it splashes into your eyes accidentally, please immediately use postoperative eye drops (sodium hyaluronate eye drops); if the drops are ineffective and redness, pain and discomfort still occur, please seek medical attention in time. 2. Makeup: Avoid eye makeup and apply eye cream for 1 month after surgery. Going out 1. Travel: You can take common means of transportation (car, train, plane) on the second day after the operation. 2. Driving: Try to avoid long-term driving (such as long-distance driving) and driving at night one month after the operation. The eyes need an adaptation period to the new visual state. Sports 1. Regular exercise: You can take a walk, jog, ride a bike, do yoga, play table tennis, practice with fitness equipment in the gym, and take a physical fitness test the next day. However, it is recommended to postpone highly confrontational sports such as football, basketball, boxing, and Sanda until one month later, mainly to prevent accidental eye impacts caused by confrontational sports. 2. Underwater sports: You can swim one month after the operation and dive six months after the operation. 3. It is recommended to wait one month for exciting amusement projects and six months for high-altitude sports. Diet: Eat less irritating foods such as tobacco, alcohol, betel nuts, chili peppers, etc. within one month. Medication section: Recovery after myopia surgery does not only depend on the surgery, but also on the medication after surgery. Please strictly follow the doctor's instructions: 1. Generally, there is a 1-3 month medication period after surgery. Depending on the surgical method, the medication and frequency of medication may vary slightly. Please take the medication according to the doctor's instructions. 2. Tilt your head back slightly, hold the eye drop bottle in one hand, and gently pull down the lower eyelid with the other hand, then slowly drop the eye drops into the dome of the conjunctival sac below. 3. Do not let the mouth of the medicine bottle touch your eyelids or eyelashes to avoid the medicine being easily contaminated. 4. Leave a 5-minute interval between using two eye drops. Follow-up time: 1 day, 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year after surgery. Eye health knowledge after surgery 1. Can't see clearly at close range after surgery? Because the refractive power changes after surgery, the eyes need a period of adaptation, which usually takes 1 month to adapt. 2. Is the clarity of vision different between the two eyes after surgery? Under normal circumstances, there is a certain difference in the refractive power of the two eyes, so the clarity will be slightly different. You will gradually adapt in 1-3 months. Try to avoid covering the left and right eyes for comparison, and try to see things with both eyes at the same time. 3. What should I do if my eyes are particularly dry when I wake up in the morning, and I can't open my eyes and feel like there is something in my eyes? Applying eye drops first thing in the morning can relieve the symptoms, but going to bed too late will aggravate the symptoms. 4. Do my eyes occasionally sting after applying eye drops? After surgery, my eyes may feel dry and irritation may occur occasionally after applying eye drops. This is normal and will gradually disappear after a few days. |
