Can you still get pregnant after multiple abortions?

With the opening up of sexual life, many young people regard their youth as their asset and do not cherish their bodies. Some women have an uncontrolled sex life and have many sexual partners. They do not take contraceptive measures during sex, which can easily lead to an unexpected pregnancy. When faced with an unexpected pregnancy, they often think that an abortion is enough and do not care about the harm of abortion to the body at all.

Can I still get pregnant after multiple abortions?

Multiple miscarriages are quite harmful, as they damage the endometrium and make future pregnancies more prone to placenta previa and placenta adhesion, leading to postpartum hemorrhage, endocrine disorders, irregular menstruation, and even amenorrhea. Abortion is prone to infection, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, salpingitis and secondary infertility. It can also cause vascular embolism, habitual abortion, endometriosis, uterine perforation, etc. But it is not absolute. If the surgical operation is standardized, the infection is thoroughly prevented, and the uterus and ovaries recover well after the operation, abortion will have more disadvantages than advantages, especially for those who need to have children in the future. Women of childbearing age should try to reduce abortion, so if they do not want to get pregnant, they should do a good job of contraception to avoid accidental pregnancy that harms their health and the possibility of infertility. Termination of pregnancy by artificial or medical methods within 3 months of pregnancy is called early pregnancy termination, also known as artificial abortion. It is used as a remedy for unexpected pregnancy due to contraceptive failure. It is also used for those who need to terminate pregnancy due to illness or to prevent congenital malformations or genetic diseases. Artificial abortion can be divided into two methods: surgical abortion and medical abortion. Commonly used methods include vacuum aspiration abortion, forceps curettage abortion and medical abortion

Causes of infertility caused by abortion:

1. Adhesion of the cervix and uterine cavity: During abortion, excessive suction or curettage may damage the cervical canal and endometrium, which may then cause cervical adhesion blockage or uterine cavity adhesion shrinkage. This prevents sperm from passing through the cervical canal into the uterine cavity, or prevents the fertilized egg from implanting and developing. The treatment for this type of inability to get pregnant after abortion is to perform a hysteroscopy-assisted separation surgery.

2. Inflammation and blockage of the fallopian tube: If the patient has severe cervicitis or the disinfection is not strict during the operation, bacteria can be brought into the organ cavity, thereby causing fallopian tube inflammation and blockage of the fallopian tube, preventing the egg and sperm from meeting and fertilization. The main treatment for infertility after abortion is surgery or guide wire technology.

3. Amenorrhea: During excessive suction or curettage, the basal layer of the endometrium is sucked away, or the basal layer of the endometrium is scraped away excessively with a curette, making it impossible for the endometrium to regenerate, causing long-term amenorrhea and leading to infertility.

Causes of Female Infertility

1. Ovulatory dysfunction, which is manifested as no ovulation during the menstrual cycle, or although ovulation occurs, the corpus luteum function is not sound after ovulation.

2. Congenital abnormalities in the development of the reproductive organs or acquired reproductive organ diseases hinder the patency and function of the reproductive tract from the vulva to the fallopian tube, hinder the meeting of sperm and egg, and lead to infertility.

3. Infertility caused by sexual dysfunction, lack of sexual knowledge, systemic diseases and unknown reasons accounts for about 1/3 of the causes of female infertility.

4. Immunological factors: refers to the presence of anti-sperm antibodies in the female reproductive tract or serum, which cause sperm to agglutinate each other, lose vitality or die, leading to infertility or sterility. In addition, some infertile women have antibodies against their own egg zona pellucida in their serum, which can prevent sperm from penetrating the egg and fertilizing it, and can also cause infertility. It is a common cause of female infertility.
