The growth environment suitable for strawberries mainly includes soil, water, light and temperature. The most suitable soil pH for strawberries is 5.5-6.5. When the soil pH is 5-8, the roots and above-ground parts of strawberries grow well. When the soil pH is less than 4 or greater than 8.5, strawberries will have growth problems.

The suitable temperature for strawberry growth, development and photosynthesis is 20-25°C. Growth is slow above 25°C, and growth and photosynthesis are inhibited above 30°C.

During the flowering and fruiting period and the vigorous growth period, the suitable light period for strawberries is 12-15 hours. During the flower bud differentiation period, short daylight of 10-12 hours and lower temperature are required.

Strawberries like moisture but not waterlogging, so they are usually fertilized with small amounts of water frequently.
