How to have a good confinement period

When you are in confinement after childbirth, there are many things you need to pay attention to. In addition to taking good care of your baby, you should try to do less of other things. Do not let your body become too tired. You must rest in bed more to allow your physical fitness to recover faster. Also, do not expose yourself to the wind too often and avoid washing your hair too often to prevent yourself from catching a cold.

During the confinement period, the mother does not do any other housework except taking care of the baby.

During the confinement period, people bathe with water boiled from certain leaves (such as longan leaves, maple leaves, and hollyhock leaves, etc.) or tree roots to disinfect and dispel wind.

Taboos during confinement:

1) Do not be exposed to the wind, because the Qi and blood are weak and the muscles and bones are loose after childbirth, which can easily allow wind, cold and dampness to enter the body and cause colds, rheumatism, joint pain, diarrhea and other diseases.

2) You cannot wash your hair as you may get a headache easily after catching a cold.

3) Do not cry or read for a long time, otherwise it will damage your eyesight. Therefore, you should maintain the correct posture when reading, not read for too long, use sufficient light, and avoid reading sad, angry, or emotionally intense content. Most importantly, do not affect your rest, because without adequate rest, it is easy to cause bleeding, back pain, abdominal pain, and lack of energy.

4) Try not to drink water, porridge, milk, fruit juice, etc., otherwise you will suffer from rheumatism or neuralgia in the future.

5) Do not eat raw or cold food. Because the postpartum body constitution is poor, poor absorption of raw and cold food can easily affect the body's recovery and affect the baby's stomach through breast milk.

It is advisable to drink more soup after childbirth

right. You should drink more water after giving birth. However, the mammary ducts of most new mothers are not completely unobstructed yet, so don't be too anxious to drink milk-inducing soup, otherwise the milk-filled period in the first two or three days after delivery may make you feel so painful that you'll want to cry. You can drink some lighter soups such as egg soup, fish soup, etc., but the soup should not be too salty.

Kind reminder: It is best to drink less oily soup. Too much oil in the soup will increase the amount of fat in the breast milk. The digestive function of the newborn is not yet complete, and too much fat in the milk may cause your baby to have diarrhea.

Can't drink water after giving birth

Of course it's nonsense. Some confinement care companies from Taiwan claim that women should not drink water after giving birth because drinking water can cause consequences such as sagging of internal organs, but there is no basis for this in either Chinese or Western medicine theory.

Avoid cold food after childbirth

right. From a medical point of view, childbirth consumes a lot of physical energy, and the hormone levels in the body drop greatly after delivery.
